Our client a major Energy operator are looking to add a Technical Lead (Flare Packages) to their team working in Paris, France.

The role will be a contract based opportunity for an initial 12 months duration and will be to work in Paris, Monday – Friday full time.

Responsibilities:To promote safety culture within the project and within her/his activities. Lead by exemplarity to have the team members and colleagues adhering and contributing. To ensure safe workplaces.To ensure that safe and ethic working practices are carried out within the activities that she/he is managing or interfacing with. To guarantee the compliance on his/her activities.To ensure that state of the art, TEPA referential and local rules/laws are complied with and captured in all contractual requirements.To work by anticipation. To assess and to identify risks for the project activities and manage associated mitigation actions at his/her level.With the spirit of our client values, to establish and manage her/his activities motivating her/his counterparts and to work diligently to meet the targets of the projects.To promote digitalization and innovation as far as compatible with good enough approach for all activities. To seek optimization and savings all along the different phases of the project. To focus on costs without impairing QHSE objectives.To promote cost culture among the teams and LEAN approach and visual management.To lead the technical interface aspects of the Closed flares retrofit projects through the different phases acting in liaison with Topside Engineering leader (from the transverse Topside Department).Before contract award to lead/prepare with the Contract engineer and Topside Engineering Leader/ discipline leaders: Contract documentation, call for tenders technical workshops, preparation of recommendation to awardand validation committees.Closed Flare projects in execution phase to establish with Topside Engineering Leader and Transverse Teams project specifications and technical direction, overseeing technical interface topics and modifications,guiding team members with troubleshooting on technical issues. Analysing existing operations to identify risks and opportunities.Supervision contractors and subcontractors involved in the Closed flare retrofit projects and ensure all technical interfaces between various packages are incorporated in the final design and installation packages.To ensure a proper coordination between the Closed flare retrofit package team and the other client .To ensure good collaboration within different transverse entities.To identify potential deviations / non-conformances / concessions and propose adapted corrective actions.To emit throughout the project in liaison with the Closed Flare Package Leader all necessary deliverables related to the management of the Closed flare retrofit package, including CPY technical documents, reports, presentations, letters, close out / feedback reports, final documentation.To support, monitor and ensure proper follow-up of any internal or external audits and technical review related to the Closed flares retrofit projects.To support to all necessary workshops with Partners and Concessionaire with regards to technical subjects.To ensure a good coordination with Contractor’s teams and a real cooperation between Contractor and Company teams to work as a single team. To resolve proactively any dispute.To monitor the activities delegated to other client entities.To deputize Closed Flares package Leader / Topside Engineering Leader for closed Flares Projects when required.To assist the LIFEX Closed Flares Package Leader in developing the project execution plan, the project organization and the required means to ensure smooth project development and technical coordination.To support with the project risks and opportunities reviews with the delegated risk coordinators.About project

Our clients team is the brownfield project division of TEPA and benefits of a matrix organization. It’s managing projects from FEED/Basic Engineering to Startup/ hand-over to Block Field Operation teams.

The nature of the brownfield projects, i.e. most of the execution activities offshore are executed in SIMOPS on live FPSOs and congested seabed, increases the risks and consequently the challenges of the projects (coactivities with other projects and maintenance activities, minimization of production shortfalls...). the group is managing EPC contracts with major international Contractors but also local players including onshore prefabrication in Angola, offshore construction and Installation (FPSO modifications, SURF, SPS, SIMOPS, high number of contractors & subcontractors).

The client life extension projects are aiming to extend the life of the client fields for an extra 10 years (from 2021 to 2031 and from 2026 to 2036 respectively).

The GIR Life extension pre-project has been kicked off in Q3 2020 and will be completed by Q3 2021.

Meanwhile, some equipment’s have already been identified and considered critical to be replaced before the start of the full execution of the GIR life extension project. It is the case for 12 GIR TRT (Top Risers to Topsides) flexibles, the replacement of the GIR Mooring Top chains, the addition of bearing pads on GIR.

Due to the extent of the work (Maintenance works, pipe works, hull repair, flowlines change out, XT change out, mooring chains replacement, wells intervention, etc.), the different work packages will be attributed to different entities within TEPA and not one single entity for the full scope. This complexifies the consolidation and visibility of the full extent.

As such, the group has been tasked to set up an overarching project team – called the LIFEX execution team – to manage and control the different scopes.

Closed Flare Retrofit Projects consists of retrofitting a closed flare system onboard client FPSOs to reduce the emissions of GHG onto the atmosphere as part of our clients One Ambition and commitment to produce more energy, with fewer emissions, in an increasingly more responsible way. The work on each Closed Flare Project includes approx. 400.000 overall man-hours, 12months of offshore SIMOPS work. Site will be TEPA affiliate first flare retrofit project and will act as a reference for future similar projects and is one of the projects part of the life extension scope. Client Closed Flare Retrofit project includes a heavy lifting campaign.

Qualifications & Experience

• Confirmed Engineer, or equivalent, with preferably 10 years of experience in Oil & Gas projects in Project Management or Operations.
• Strong team spirit, field proven coordination and communication skills and recognized capability to work in a transverse mode.
• Problem solving mindset and solution driven attitude.
• Languages: English mandatory.
• Excellent communication skills, dynamism, high motivation, “out-of-the-box” thinking.
• Formal Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
