Simera Sense, a leading mid- to high-resolution earth observation camera supplier for CubeSats and small satellites for companies from around the globe, is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our team in Toulouse, France.

Our head office is based in Somerset West, South.

Job Purpose :


To lead decisions on selecting, prioritizing, and coordinating projects and programs to ensure alignment with the organization's strategy, verify that these projects and programs are the right work to undertake to deliver the goals of the strategy, and can identify the need for deliver, and sustain organizational change.

Your role will involve managing project teams and other project managers, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities :
Financial Develop, maintain, and report project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and budgets.

Provide governance over the organisation's internal projects:
Assure that risks at the organisational level are managed appropriately. Assure that resources are expended and utilised responsibly. Customer Communicate, influence, and advise clearly with internal and external stakeholders in a broadly defined multi-disciplinary project context. Identify and mitigate project risks, and develop contingency plans as needed.

Internal Lead and manage cross-functional teams to deliver projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget.

Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and procurement, to ensure project objectives are met. Communicate project status, risks, and issues to senior management and stakeholders. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes and methodologies.

Strategic alignment:
Link all projects to strategic and operational business plans.

Ensure that every project supports the right business goals; require that every project have an effective manager or leader in charge.

Implement and maintain an appropriate PM Methodology. Rigorously and formally manage changes to project scope, budget, schedule, and requirements. Implement, lead, and coordinate project portfolio management.

Responsible for the development, adoption, deployment, and constant improvement of PPPM methodology as well as its penetration into areas that have not historically been exposed to structured projects, which will, in turn, help to further improve the overall quality of project execution.

Provides clear accountability for project success as well as clear accountability that the organisation will conduct the right projects to achieve strategic outcomes.


Organisational maturity:
Act as the sponsor for all program and project management practices.

Ensure that the organisation adopts only a unified methodology, tools and techniques, governance, and processes that best fit its strategic objectives.

Continuously oversee improvement and customisation to serve the implementation of that strategy. Innovation and learning Undertake professional development activities sufficient to maintain and extend competence. Act as mentor and coach for junior project managers.

Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or related field; advanced degree preferred. PMP certification or equivalent project management certification. Fluent in English and French. A good command of Dutch is an advantage.

Required Experience :
Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, preferably in the space or electro-optical industries. Demonstratable track record of managing a portfolio of large-scale, high-profile strategic projects. Demonstrated experience managing key development suppliers alongside internal development teams. Strong experience across multiple stages of the project lifecycle, from project initiation through to successful delivery.

Understanding and experience implementing Agile and Lean development processes Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve project goals.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on delivering results. Experience with project management tools and software. Capability to create accurate and concise reporting and status presentations. Experience with determining resource needs and compile and maintain program or project financial and resource budgets. Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects with cross-functional teams. Experience managing program or project risks.

Recommendations:
Five years of experience working with PLM, preferably Siemens Teamcenter will be an advantage. Five years of experience working with Sciforma project management software will be a strong advantage. Proven capability to manage remote teams over different locations will be an advantage.
