Your Role:

As we pursue our growth ambitions, we are eager to welcome a dynamic and committed People Operations Specialist to our team. This role is pivotal in not only fostering a positive company culture but also in streamlining our human resources operations to enhance overall efficiency and employee satisfaction.

Reporting directly to our CFO, you will be responsible for:

• Overseeing HR operations - Manages all HR activities, including policy implementation, staff supervision, and compliance with legal standards.
• Providing assistance with payroll and leave management - Supports the payroll processing and leave management, ensuring accurate employee compensation and adherence to policies.
• Managing employee relations - Handles workplace conflicts and employee issues, providing support and guidance on HR policies and practices.
• Implementing HR systems - Leads the implementation and optimization of HR systems to enhance recruitment, payroll, and employee management processes.
• Organising team-building events - Coordinates team-building initiatives to boost morale and promote a collaborative and engaging work environment in a global, remote business.
• Implementing and Managing Performance Reviews: Develops and oversees a structured performance review system to regularly assess employee performance, provide constructive feedback, and guide professional development.

Your Qualifications:

Must-haves:

• 4+ years experience in a human resources role. Experience should include direct hands-on involvement in managing HR operations, implementing HR systems, and overseeing employee relations.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing and optimising HR information systems (HRIS). Proficiency in systems such as SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, or similar platforms that support recruitment, payroll processing, and performance management.
• Extensive knowledge of employment law, especially as it pertains to payroll, employee benefits, workplace safety, and discrimination laws across multiple jurisdictions
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate policies and procedures clearly to all levels of the organisation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, crucial for managing HR operations effectively and making data-driven decisions.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, fostering mutual respect and cooperation among team members and departments.
• You exhibit a pragmatic approach to solving problems in an industry of unrestricted content, encompassing free speech ideals, including but not limited to, erotic roleplay and other forms of uncensored material.

Preferred:

• Previous experience in a dynamic, growth-oriented company environment
• Fundamental understanding of global employment laws
• Graduated from law school, specialising in Human Resources Management, Employment Law, or a closely related field.
• Experience with levelling, REM (Retention, Engagement, Motivation), and bonus structures

What Success Looks Like

In the first month: Your main objectives will include becoming acquainted with the Deel platform and the Deel HR system. You'll need to understand the requirements for daily HR operations and start to define and implement the best practices for HR processes. Additionally, you will prepare an implementation plan covering the next three to six months, setting the stage for upcoming initiatives.

By 6 months: You should ensure that daily HR processes are streamlined and functioning efficiently. Major HR policies should be established and communicated across the organisation. You will play a key role in assisting the CEO with the preparation of monthly company meetings, with a focus on company culture and the wellbeing of employees. Furthermore, you will co-organise the first worldwide team gathering and draft an action plan to infuse the company's vision, mission, and strategy into a culture that emphasises collaboration, performance, and fun.

By 12 months: you are expected to be completely autonomous, capable of addressing the majority of employment and contractor-related questions and issues independently. You will have developed comprehensive career development plans for various positions within the company. Additionally, your responsibilities will include assisting hiring managers and external recruiters in the recruiting process. Performance reviews and processes should be well-established by then, and you will aid managers in conducting these reviews effectively. This comprehensive approach ensures a robust alignment with the organisation's strategic goals and a strong, supportive work culture.
