Network security engineer (Cloud)

I am currently assisting one of Europe’s biggest leisure companies in the search for a Cloud Network Security Engineer, your role will be crucial in ensuring the security of their network infrastructure. The position is critical to protecting our infrastructure and data from threats and vulnerabilities.


My client is one of the leading companies in Europe for leisure and tourism. The scope for progression is endless


Glocomms have been trusted recruitment suppliers for this organization for some years and have been responsible for placing numerous consultants in their ranks


Main responsibilities:


Guarantor of network security

  • Develop, review and approve installation requirements for network environments.
  • Document the technical and functional requirements of the network (network diagram, system configuration, etc.).
  • Regularly audit network infrastructure to spot vulnerabilities and security breaches.
  • Establish remediation plans to resolve identified vulnerabilities.
  • Check monitoring tools for recommendations to mitigate risks.
  • Participate in the evaluation of the network in order to identify its strengths and weaknesses.
  • Ensure network security tasks on platforms (Cloud).
  • Investigate and mitigate network (Cloud) risks.
  • Good understanding of software license management (needs and regulations).
  • Design and implement public key infrastructures.


Knowledge of threats and attacks

  • Have a good understanding of potential threats and attacks, particularly those likely to target Internet environments.
  • Analyze, detect and respond to cyber threats.


Maintaining PCI DSS Compliance

  • Actively work to maintain compliance of our firewall with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).


Active participation in deployment and maintenance tasks

  • Actively participate in the deployment of security solutions and ensure their ongoing maintenance.
  • Eliminate obsolescence by keeping systems and software up to date.
  • Testing the final security structure


System patch management

  • Ensure regular deployment of security patches to network devices.
  • Ensure the general hygiene of our network platforms with regard to security.


Compliance with CISO requirements

  • Ensure that we meet the requirements issued by the group's CISO (Chief Information Security Officer).
  • Check CIS compliance reports on existing and (newly) created workloads on , and correct if necessary.
  • Establish compliance plans if necessary.
  • Skills and overall maturity improvement plan of the team/department.


Security Status Report

  • Regularly report security status, including patch tracking and vulnerability management.
  • Participate (be a member) of the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT).


Log and incident management

  • Implementation of log file management.
  • Monitor and monitor critical incidents and events on a daily basis.
  • Daily checking of log files for abnormal behavior.


System hardening

  • Based on CIS policies, ensure strengthening of network (Cloud) configurations.
  • b. Monitor and coordinate corrective action plans arising from network vulnerability management processes, audits, penetration testing, etc. (for example: avoid the default administrator account).
  • vs. Regularly assess network vulnerability.


BUILD networks

  • Evolution of the infrastructure or provision of new services according to business needs.
  • Software version upgrade, patch management
  • Replacement of equipment as part of obsolescence management

RUN networks

  • Administration of firewall security equipment (FortiGate)
  • Administration of network equipment at PVCP sites (HPE Aruba)
  • Administration of headquarters network equipment (Juniper)
  • Remote Access Administration (Netskope)
  • Cloud network administration (Azure, GCP)
  • Administration Load Balancer (FortiADC, F5) and DNS DHCP (Infoblox)


NETWORK SUPPORT

  • L2 support on the various infrastructure components under his responsibility
  • L3 support in incident resolution on applications or network infrastructure services
  • Opening and monitoring boxes with publisher support services


Rich technical environment: LAN, MAN, Security (FW, WAF,) VPN, Cloud, automation, HP, Fortinet, GIT, F5, SDWAN, etc.


Qualifications and skills:

  • Strong knowledge of networking and security concepts: LAN, WAN, VPN, firewalls, routers, etc.
  • Expertise in the following solutions: SASE (CATO), Firewall (Fortinet), Load Balancing (Fortinet, F5), DNS DHCP (Infoblox), Remote Access (Netskope).
  • Advanced understanding of security protocols, cryptography and security (HTTPS, SSL, IKE/SA, etc.).
  • Experience implementing network security solutions.
  • Good understanding of ITIL concepts (supplier management, incident management, change management, etc.).


Training and experience required:

  • Bac +5 engineering diploma in computer networks and security.
  • At least 5 years of experience in IT, including at least 2 years as a network security engineer.
  • Good knowledge (experience) of Cloud concepts (environments) is essential.
  • IT security or risk assessment certifications are an asset.
  • Satisfactory level of English (written and spoken).
