Lead Chemist

Our client is a global industrial company, designing solutions and manufacturing products for a range of industries worldwide. One of their sites in the North of France is producing industrial fluids for various industries.

They are currently looking for an experienced Industrial Manufacturing Chemist to form part of a multi-disciplined group of scientists and take the operational ownership of the projects run at a European level.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the formulation of new and existing products, testing and upscaling. You will ascertain products are formulated and tested to agreed specifications, develop analytical method, up scale, process improvements, etc

Thanks to your technical knowledge, you will also support the commercial function by providing front line technical support to customers and commercial staff via the HubSpot CRM system and occasionally provide training to colleagues across the wider business.

The Development Chemist will work cross functionally with Marketing, Product Management, Sourcing, Production, and other departments. This role will be critical in ensuring flawless execution of projects. The person will work with a cross functional team to deliver New Product Development (CBI), Existing Product Development, and Value adding and engineering activities, with a mindset of continuous improvement and corporate collaboration.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A BSc in Chemistry (or closely related field)
• 5+ years experience in the formulation development of professional industrial products (aerosols, downstream chemical blending, paints, emulsions, greases, lubricants, etc)
• English as a strong second language
• Knowledge of GLP regulations and previous experience working within a quality management system (9001, AS9100, ISO 17025, IO 13485)
