Job Summary
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead our small but talented development team, providing technical leadership, overseeing product development, and ensuring that our technology solutions align with our business goals. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on CPTO who thrives in a startup environment and is eager to make a significant impact.
Alongside the responsibilities for product roadmap development and technical strategy, as CPTO, you will be integral to representing Embrace externally with customers and speaking at key industry events. You will also collaborate closely with the CEO and other senior leadership to define the future growth and strategy of the business, including meeting with potential investors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technology Strategy: Define and execute the technology strategy, aligning it with our business objectives and growth plans.
- Product Vision: Collaborate with the founders and other stakeholders to shape the product vision and roadmap.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a small development team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Hands-on Development: Roll up your sleeves and actively contribute to coding, architecture, and development tasks as needed.
- Scalability: Ensure that our technology solutions are scalable and can support our growth trajectory.
- Technology Stack: Select and manage the technology stack, making informed decisions about tools and frameworks.
- Product Development: Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept to release.
- Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality assurance processes to deliver high-quality software.
- Budget Management: Manage the technology budget, optimizing resource allocation for maximum impact.
- Market Awareness: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technology-related risks and security concerns.
- Communication: Communicate technical strategies, challenges, and progress to the leadership team and other stakeholders.
- Vendor Relationships: Manage relationships with third-party vendors, contractors, and technology partners.
- Brand Ambassador: Playing a key role in representing Embrace externally with Customers and speaking at industry events (IBC, NAB, DPP, etc.).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in a technical leadership role, ideally in a startup environment, within the Media and Entertainment industries.
- Knowledge of media supply chain technologies and familiarity with graphics workflows and on-air promotion stakes would be an asset.
- Strong hands-on coding skills and expertise in software development, ideally Python.
- Strong experience working with AWS Kubernetes, including deployments on Public Cloud.
- Excellent leadership and team-building abilities.
