Offer Description
The researcher (M/W) will be responsible for carrying out the design, retrosynthesis, and multi-step organic syntheses of multifunctional organic molecules. He will be responsible for the purification and characterization of the compounds prepared by the usual techniques such as 1D NMR, 2D NMR, MS, IRFT, HPLC/MS, GC/MS. His mission will be to participate in the in vitro biological evaluation of the synthesized compounds. The mission will also include the optimization of protocols for the synthesis of the most biologically promising compounds on a scale of several grams, for in vivo evaluation.

The Institut de Chimie et Procédés pour l'Energie, l'Environnement et la Santé (ICPEES), a joint research unit under the joint supervision of the CNRS and the University of Strasbourg (UMR7515). Its staff is made up of around fifty permanent employees and some 80 PhD students, post-docs and other fixed-term contracts. The institute boasts world-renowned expertise in chemistry, materials development and characterization by various processes, as well as strong industrial collaborations.
The researcher (M/F) will join the Nanomaterials, Catalysis and Interfaces team at ICPEES, reporting to Dr. Rachid BAATI.
The project is part of a high-potential valorization project (Projet de Prématuration CNRS). The work carried out will enable us to advance the technological maturity of the best active molecules in a significant way.

Eligibility criteria
– Organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, parallel microwave synthesis
– Organic synthesis, multistep synthesis and physicochemical characterization of compounds by NMR, IR, MS.
– Analytical chemistry: LC/MS, GC/MS
– General notion of UV/Vis spectroscopy (detection and quantitative dosage)
– Have already handled/used HPLC or GC devices during the thesis project and work experience
– Concept of enzymology
– Knowledge and mastery of chemical research databases
– Have worked in a multidisciplinary environment at the interface of chemistry and biology
– Having supervised students (masters, undergraduate)
– Writing and oral skills for presenting/commenting/analyzing results in French and English
– Ease of integration into a research team
– Know how to work in a multidisciplinary environment
– Know how to work and collaborate in a team
– English level C1 or C2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (indicate TOEIC level or equivalent).
