The Opportunity

As a Solutions Architect at Worldline, you will design and enhance the Axis payment platform, a cornerstone of our digital services that processes over 10 billion payment transactions annually. This is a high-impact role where your expertise will shape the future of digital payments, ensuring the Axis platform remains scalable, reliable, and at the cutting edge of technology.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Provide strategic technical direction and oversight to development teams, ensuring alignment with architectural principles and best practices.
  • Innovation: Drive innovation by integrating new technologies and methodologies that enhance the platform's scalability, performance, and security, in order to match its increasing transaction volumes and evolving business needs.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Documentation and Standards: Develop comprehensive architectural documentation and design specifications to guide development and maintenance efforts.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve complex technical challenges with innovative and effective solutions through proofs of concept, ensuring minimal disruption to the platform's operations.

Who Are We Looking For

  • Experience: 10+ years in software development and architecture, with substantial experience in designing and implementing large-scale systems.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in multiple programming languages (e.g. Java, C++, Go, Python).
  • Database Knowledge: Extensive experience with both relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (e.g. Cassandra).
  • Cloud and Microservices: Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g. Google Cloud) and microservices architecture.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in IaC tools and practices (e.g. Terraform, Puppet, Ansible).
  • Security Expertise: In-depth knowledge of security principles and best practices in software design, particularly for financial systems.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership abilities with a knack for mentoring and guiding development teams.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to a diverse audience in the English language.
  • Education: Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
