Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) Programmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, installation, and troubleshooting of PLC systems for automation and control processes within our clients manufacturing, industrial, or commercial operations. The PLC Programmer will work closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure optimal system functionality, efficiency, and performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • PLC Programming: Design, write, and modify PLC programs for new and existing automation systems using various PLC brands and programming languages (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc.).
  • Training & Support: Provide training to operators and technicians on how to use and troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems. Offer ongoing technical support as needed.
  • System Integration: Integrate PLC systems with other industrial automation devices (e.g., HMIs, SCADA, sensors, VFDs) to ensure seamless communication and control.
  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve PLC and control system malfunctions, and propose solutions to optimize system performance.
  • Automation Process Design: Develop and optimize control processes for manufacturing, production lines, and machinery, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Testing & Commissioning: Conduct system tests and initial start-up procedures, ensuring systems meet functional and performance specifications.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Create detailed documentation including wiring diagrams, program files, operation manuals, and troubleshooting guides. Maintain accurate records for all modifications and system updates.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside electrical, mechanical, and automation engineers to ensure efficient integration of PLC programs with mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to improve automation systems and processes.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience with various PLC platforms (Siemens, and Allen-Bradley would be a major advantage).
  • Proven experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting in an industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram (FBD), and others.
  • Knowledge of HMI/SCADA systems, industrial sensors, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  • Familiarity with control system hardware, electrical circuits, and relay logic.
