A premier asset management firm headquartered in Paris, specializing in a wide array of investment products, is actively seeking a seasoned legal professional to assume the pivotal role of Director of Legal. With a focus on excellence and innovation, they are committed to delivering superior investment solutions to their diverse clientele.
Role Overview:
As the Director of Legal, you will spearhead their legal department, overseeing all legal matters pertaining to both AIFMD legal requirements and corporate law. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a critical role in providing strategic legal counsel, managing a team of two legal professionals, and ensuring the company's operations align seamlessly with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal guidance on financial regulations, with a specialized emphasis on the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD), to support the company's operational activities.
- Conduct thorough reviews of fund documentation to guarantee adherence to regulatory mandates, fostering transparency and compliance.
- Stay abreast of evolving regulatory frameworks, particularly updates related to AIFMD, and disseminate pertinent information to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with upper management to facilitate regulatory filings and liaise with relevant authorities, ensuring seamless communication and compliance at all levels.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of demonstrable expertise in financial services regulation, with a robust understanding of AIFMD and its implications.
- Fluency in both French and English languages.
