It provides guidance and support to subsidiaries around the world, to ensure the coordination and monitoring of the Group's global strategy, the application of its standards, the consistency of commercial approaches and the sharing of best practices. The headquarters gathers approximately 1000 employees and is distinguished by its strong international culture (45 nationalities), which makes it a rich and stimulating place to work. Within the Group, you will join the Group Legal department composed of 4 teams (i) Insurance, Reinsurance & Strategic Projects, (ii) M&A, (iii) Corporate Governance and (iv) Corporate Finance.  Within this Department, you will be part of the Insurance, Reinsurance and Strategic Projects Team and more precisely contribute to the Reinsurance part.  YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSABILITIES:    As Legal Counsel, you will have the following responsibilities and missions : Coordinate the annual review of AXA Group's standard Property & Casualty (P&C) and Life & Health reinsurance terms and conditions in close collaboration with different internal and external contributorsDraft and negotiate standard P&C and Life reinsurance terms and conditions for the AXA Group (in English)Negotiate closely with the risk management department and set up the contractual framework related to financial securities of reinsurers: Letter of Credit, Deposit, Pledge, under various applicable lawsAdvise the reinsurance department and the claims department upon request on any legal issue related to specific reinsurance termsEnsuring compliance with the laws and regulations of the registering countries Implementing and/or reviewing procedures related to the missionsPresenting internally the important points related to the missions  Additionally, the role of the Legal Counsel is to:  Guarantee the legal security and the permanent improvement of the AXA Group's general conditions of reinsurance P&C and Life & Health by collecting, analyzing, and contractually editing suggestions for improvement from various internal and external sources (legal and reinsurance departments of ceding companies, risk management department, claims and underwriting experts, brokers) Negotiate annually standard P&C and Life & Health reinsurance terms and conditions for the AXA Group with reinsurersEnsure AXA's compliance with the laws and regulations of the countries in which the ceding companies are registered to carry out its reinsurance or brokerage activitiesContribute to the legal security of specific reinsurance conditions by advising the reinsurance department upon request in the context of negotiations with reinsurers Contribute to proper handling of reinsurance claims by advising the claims department upon request in the context of negotiations with reinsurersEstablish or review procedures related to your missionsPresent internally (reinsurance department, committees etc.) the results obtained within your missions  YOUR PROFILE You have solid expertise in French insurance and contract lawYou are fluent in English (B2/C1)You have autonomous negotiation and drafting skills in English and French on complex legal subjects with interlocutors from different legal culturesYou have initiative and proposal-making skills, a great teamwork spirit and a sense of rigor and organization in work according to prioritiesAs level of experience and degree you studied law in France, preferably with a specialization in insurance law, and you have at least 4 years of international experience in a legal function in insurance or reinsurance WHY JOIN US You will join:A responsible company, towards people, including its employees and customers, and towards the planet A company with strong valuesA company promoting internal mobility and the training of its employeesA company offering many benefits (learn more here: Reward & Benefits | AXA Group)A flexible company, allowing hybrid work, in the office and from home.In line with our commitments, we celebrate each new hire by taking action for global reforestation: we plant a tree for every recruitment.
