Role Overview
IDEMIA Smart Identity Business Line is seeking an experienced Head of Architecture to lead and manage a team of architects focused on embedded systems and testing. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the alignment of system architecture across multiple teams and locations, working closely with our embedded systems and test architects to drive innovation and excellence in software solutions. As a leader, you will foster collaboration within a community of team architects who play a dual role as both architects and developers/testers.
Key Responsibilities
In addition to contributing to architecture design and development, you will be responsible for:
- Team Leadership: Directly manage and guide a team of architects, including a system architect and a test architect based in the Netherlands.
- Architecture Leadership: Lead the overall system architecture design, specifying software structure, APIs, and ensuring alignment with performance, security, budget, quality, and risk requirements.
- Collaboration: Animate and coordinate a community of team architects across Paris, Sophia-Antipolis/Meyreuil, and Manila. These team architects, embedded in the development teams, report to their respective team leaders but are aligned under your architectural vision.
- Cross-functional Integration: Work closely with development and testing teams to oversee architectural improvements related to embedded operating systems (OS) and associated testing.
- Mentorship: Share knowledge, mentor team architects, and foster an environment of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Feasibility and Documentation: Conduct feasibility analysis on architecture proposals, documenting detailed specifications for development teams.
Required Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- 7+ years of experience in system architecture, specifically in embedded software and systems with performance and security constraints.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, particularly in leading architecture teams across different locations.
- Experience in designing and implementing robust, scalable, and high-performance embedded systems architectures.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills in both French and English.
