• Permanent contract Bordeaux (33)Position DutiesAt Shiro Games we have full control over our technical stack, including the open-source game engine Heaps and editor Hide, of which we are the main contributors. This allows us to ship ambitious games with small teams without overtime and without ever being blocked by third party technology.
We are looking for an experienced game programmer to join our growing team of passionate developers on an exciting project.
This role offers the opportunity to progressively take ownership of the project's programming direction.
What you will doCreate, own and maintain game features from start to finishGain a deep understanding of the game design and mechanics by working side-by-side with game designersRegularly refactor game systems to maintain a sane and flexible codebaseUse rapid prototyping to test game design ideasMentor other developers within the team and delegate tasksBecome a major contributor to the overall quality and production process of the gameCandidate ProfileWhat you must bringAt least 5 years of industry experience with at least one shipped game (mandatory)Excellent programming skills, with a deep knowledge of several programming languagesMaturity in software architecture, algorithms, data structuresDeep understanding of the various stages of game productionInterest in game design and game mechanicsGood communication skills, with the ability to become a central point of contact on the projectPersonal or professional projects realized outside of Unreal Engine or Unity a plusAdditional InformationWhat you can expectShiro Games is a great environment to not only work but to share and create with :Spacious studio space based in Bordeaux (no remote work)Well situated neighborhood near numerous restaurants, pubs that play host to our regular staff social eventsPrivate healthcare (with option to add immediate family)Meal allowancePublic transport costs covered at 50%Relocation packageSalary range : €41,000 to €50,000 gross per year, depending on seniority level.
