⌘Role OverviewWe’re looking for a Senior Backend Developer who’s passionate about designing scalable systems, architecting robust APIs, and improving cloud infrastructure. This is a key technical role for someone who not only executes tasks but thinks systemically meaning identifying the best solutions for performance, reliability, and scalability.⌘Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain scalable backend services using NestJS and TypeScriptArchitect and optimize PostgreSQL/Supabase databases, schemas, and queriesDevelop and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform on GCP/AWSImplement and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment flows, and observabilityCreate and manage Cloud Functions for new features and automationDebug, monitor, and enhance system performance and reliabilityEnsure backend security, data integrity, and compliance best practicesCollaborate cross-functionally with product, mobile, and data teamsReview code, enforce standards, and mentor other engineers⌘Requirements Must have:8+ years of backend development with JavaScript/TypeScript5+ years with NodeJS5+ years with NestJS (core requirement)3+ years working with GCP, AWS or Azure2+ years with PostgreSQL/Supabase2+ years with Terraform (infrastructure-as-code)Hands-on experience with Firestore/FirebaseStrong understanding of microservices architecture, API design, and DevOps practicesExcellent debugging, problem-solving, and system design skillsRigor, autonomy, and a sense of ownership, capable of seeing the “whole system,” not just your pieceNice to have:Experience with React NativeExperience with NextJSExperience with Python/FlaskPrevious exposure to event-driven or real-time architecturesExperience with LLM Apis/Rag⌘ What’s in it for you?A front-row seat in an exciting, fast-growing start-up.Employee stock options.The opportunity to develop your position and responsibilities as Timeleft grows.Take part in Timeleft dinners and see for yourself the impact we have on people's lives.Help fight the loneliness epidemic in big cities.⌘ Recruitment ProcessIntroduction Interview (30 min): A conversation with Talent Acquisition Lead to discuss your experience, career goals, and how they align with our mission at Timeleft.Technical Interview (1h): Discussion with Lead Backend Engineer about your experience and technical skills.Final Interview (30 min): Discussion with Head of Engineering about your skills and how you'd fit with the team.
