Infrastructure Director


  • Project Duration: 3-5 Years
  • Reporting To: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
  • Project Focus: Networking, Systems, and Cloud
  • Location: Remote/Flexible


I am assisting a Multinational Retail company in the Search for a highly skilled Infrastructure director to Join their team to lead critical projects for the next 3-5 years focused on Networking, Systems, and Cloud infrastructure.


The successful candidate will report directly to the CTO and will be responsible for overseeing the design and implementation projects and the management of our infrastructure to ensure it meets the highest standards of performance, reliability, and security.


Glocomms has a longstanding relationship with this company and have placed numerous externals in their teams over the past years.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive infrastructure strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Project Leadership: Lead the infrastructure team in the design, implementation, and maintenance of networking, systems, and cloud solutions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the CTO and other senior leaders to ensure infrastructure initiatives support business objectives.
  • Budget Management: Manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
  • Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
  • Security: Ensure all infrastructure components adhere to the highest security standards and best practices.
  • Performance Monitoring: Implement monitoring tools and processes to ensure optimal performance and availability of infrastructure.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure designs, processes, and procedures.


Qualifications:


  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of networking, systems, and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of IT professionals.


  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., CCIE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, etc.) are a plus.


Preferred Skills:


  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
