Non-Functional Performance Test EngineerLocation: Strasbourg, France (Hybrid -80% on-site/ 20% off-site or 50% on-site /50% off-site)Contract Type: FreelanceStart Date: ImmediateDuration: 12 months, with possible extensionEU Nationality RequiredRole OverviewThe Non-Functional Performance Test Engineer will be responsible for defining, executing and managing performance testing activities across software and hardware systems within a mission-critical environment. The role ensures that delivered solutions meet expected performance, scalability, reliability and stability criteria. The consultant will work closely with development, QA and infrastructure teams to diagnose, interpret and resolve performance issues and provide recommendations for improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement a comprehensive end-to-end performance testing strategy for systems in scopeDraft performance test plans, maintain documentation, and submit for management reviewDesign and develop performance test scripts using tools from the CSI Technology Portfolio CataloguePrepare, manage and maintain performance test datasetsExecute performance testing cycles including load, stress, endurance, capacity and scalability testingAnalyse system behaviour using performance metrics: CPU, memory, network, garbage collection, database performance and system logsIdentify performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, resource issues and failure patternsCapture and interpret test metrics and monitor results using LoadRunner, JMeter and associated toolsCollaborate with developers, QA teams and stakeholders to resolve issues and improve performanceCreate standards and best practices for reusable, maintainable performance test scriptsProvide technical recommendations and assist in enhancing capacity, scalability and reliabilityProduce formal reporting and present performance findings to contractors, managers and governing authoritiesEnable and mentor QA and development teams in the execution of performance testingContribute to continuous improvement across tools, processes and methodologiesRequired Skills and ExperienceMinimum 6 years of hands-on experience in software and hardware performance testingDemonstrable expertise in non-functional testing concepts, workload modelling, test design and executionStrong working experience with JMeter and performance monitoring tools; LoadRunner exposure beneficialProven experience across the full software lifecycle: requirements, analysis, design, implementation, testing and maintenancePractical knowledge of test planning, estimation, data setup, defect management and configuration managementExperience in identifying system-level issues including memory leaks, resource contention and infrastructure constraintsStrong analytical reporting skills and ability to write structured testing documentationExcellent communication capabilities with the ability to collaborate effectively with development teams and technical stakeholdersExperience working in international and multicultural environments
