We are looking for an Assistant Professor in generative models for artificial intelligence. You will join the Image, Data, Signal Departement (IDS). The research activity of the IDS department is done at the Laboratory Treatment and Communication of Information (LTCI). The mission of the department is teaching and research in the field of signal, image and data processing. You will also participate to the activities of HiParis, interdisciplinariry center on AI & Data created by The Institut Polytechnique de Paris.

Scientific context:

The rise of artificial intelligence and particularly of deep learning techniques has profoundly impacted research for all data modalities: audio, images, videos, text, 3D, etc. In particular, the field of generative networks has recently greatly advanced the state of the art in numerous application fields, ranging from natural language processing to image and video generation. It is therefore naturally that this area has become central in the activities of the three possible hosting teams proposed for this position: S2A (Signal, Statistics and Learning), IMAGES (Image, Modeling, Analysis, GEometry, Synthesis) and MM (Multimedia). These activities are developed for various modalities (audio, image, video, text, 3D) and are core to numerous projects and collaborations (advanced European project ERC, ANR, Cifres theses, CIEDS, etc.).

The development of generative models poses a large number of scientific challenges. The self- or weakly supervised training of these models, the development of frugal models, transfer learning, open numerous avenues of research. Obtaining guarantees and control over these models is also a particularly fruitful topic. Multi-modal data integration and structured data management is also a very active direction at the moment for the development of generative models. There is therefore strong scientific potential on these themes, whether in the fields of audio, computer vision, image processing, etc.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Participate in the design and implement courses in their scientific field
  • Conduct research
  • Participate in the development of partnerships, collaborations, and contractual agreements in their scientific field
  • Foster the recognition of Telecom Paris and the Institut Polytechnique de Paris

Pour réussir sur ce poste, vous détenez un doctorat et des connaissances approfondies, théoriques ou appliquées en intelligence artificielle générative, apprentissage profond, données (audio, image, vidéos, etc.).

La maîtrise de l'anglais écrit et oral est nécessaire pour ce poste.

Autres expertises souhaitées :

  • Expertise en IA générative dans l'un ou plusieurs des domaines d'application des équipes concernées (musique, parole, audio, vision par ordinateur, imagerie biomédicale, télédétection, etc.)
  • Expertise dans le traitement des données multimodales et structurées (graphes)
  • Apprentissage auto-supervisé, séquentiel, transfert d'apprentissage, adaptation de domaine
  • Modèles de diffusion, modèles adversariaux (GAN), modèles de fondation, plug-and-play, unrolling
  • Ethique et biais dans les systèmes d'IA générative
  • Expertise dans la gestion de projets open-source

Sélection : Le processus de sélection se déroule en 5 étapes :

- Examen des candidatures et sélection des candidatures correspondant aux qualifications requises
- L'équipe de recherche sélectionne une liste de candidats présélectionnés
- Entretien préliminaire avec le département des Ressources Humaines
- Audition par la commission de recrutement et classement des candidats retenus.
- Entretien final avec le directeur de Télécom Paris
