Apera Asset Management (“Apera”) is a leading pan-European mid-market private debt investor with AuM in excess of €3bn and offices in Paris, Munich, London and Luxembourg. Apera’s Private Debt strategy focuses on senior financings in France & Benelux, the UK, German-speaking Europe (DACH) and the Nordic region. Target investments range from €15 million to €150 million. Apera also invests in subordinated debt instruments and equity stakes on an opportunistic basis.
Job description
We are seeking to hire an Analyst into our Paris-based investment team, to support the origination, due diligence and execution of transactions in France and the Benelux region. The Analyst will assist the Investment team with all areas of the investment process and the ongoing monitoring of Apera’s investments.
Main responsibilities:
Supports all aspects of deal execution
Supports the deal team in conducting in-depth industry, market and company analysis which includes review of investment opportunities and risks as well as detailed financial analysis
Reviews and analyses financial data and due diligence reports received
Is responsible for the financial model including development and analysis of sensitivity cases
Supports the preparation of investment recommendations to the investment committee (IC) and participates in presentations to the IC
Takes responsibility for specific deal-, portfolio-, reporting- and fund-related tasks and workstreams under the guidance of senior team members
Supports the investment team regarding the ongoing monitoring of the portfolio
Qualifications:
Gained necessary analytical and research skills, by way of 1 or 2 years of relevant prior experience (first professional experience or internships) in direct lending or leveraged finance, private equity, debt advisory, consulting or transaction services
At least undergraduate university degree, preferably in finance, business administration or economics
Fundamental financial and credit analysis skills; analytical rigor and number-savvy approach regarding financials and modelling
Able to interact well also with external counterparties (i.e. financial sponsors and advisors)
Has a hands-on mentality and the ability to prioritize & structure tasks in a fast-moving environment and under time pressure
Native French speaker, fluent in Business English with strong verbal and written communication skills
