The Axian Telecom Cluster is looking for its Project Management Officer M/F


The Mission:


The Project Management Officer’s mission is to define, structure and implement one of Axian Telecom’s key strategic initiatives and to engage Axian Telecom’s OpCos across markets in the delivery of high impact and high visibility program, while managing the complete project life cycle.


This includes, defining the project's objectives, structuring processes to define the workflow, development and monitoring of timelines and ensure progress to plan, budget management, delegation of responsibilities, while engaging in continuous reviews and assessment to ensure best in class delivery with cross functional teams across several markets.


The position requires a strong project management background, experience with project-based process improvements, and ability to communicate clearly and effectively to drive stakeholders across organizations towards a common goal. To be successful in this role, you must be action action-oriented, and able to navigate time sensitive-sensitive situations with confidence and ease through stellar communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Define and implement Axian Telecom’s Project governance framework
  • Create and manage cross-functional plans, collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams (marketing, Communication, HR, Sales and Distribution and finance. As well as external vendors to define requirements and manage timelines.
  • Facilitation of end-to-end scoping to deliver the project objectives / estimation and managing cross-team dependencies.
  • Develops and maintain a thorough understanding of the organization’s vision, business plans, and key business drivers in collaboration with the Leadership Team.
  • Oversees all projects/programs according to PMO methodologies and processes.
  • Define strategies for governance, risk mitigation, and contingency planning.
  • Engage and provide critical information to leadership, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders (Business Leadership, Strategy teams, Commercial, Marketing, etc.) to prioritize initiatives.
  • Oversee implementation of projects roadmap (Group & OpCo level)
  • Uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, tasks, and changes.
  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects and serves as a liaison between project management and planning teams at AXIAN Telecom at the Op-cos, and commercial leadership.
  • Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, goals and objectives.
  • Steer teams based on business objectives, and continuously align teams to those objectives, in the face of ambiguity and aggressive deadlines
  • Conduct regular meetings with stakeholder to proactively address delivery issues, escalating requiring remediation.
  • Measure and monitor the quality of project delivery, including business impact assessments.
  • Communication and reporting
  • Define and maintain metrics reporting – supporting on-time, on-budget assumptions and planning
  • Communicate roadmaps, progress, risks, mitigation plans, and impacts to senior management and cross-functional teams.
  • Plan, coordinate and support the development of measurement systems and management reports including KPIs and dashboards; develop specialized reports as needed.


Desired Skills:

  • Expert-level knowledge of project and change management and associated methodologies, techniques, processes, and approaches.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly the verbal skills necessary for communicating with multiple individuals and groups of stakeholders, often under deadline pressure.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to juggle multiple goals and deadlines in context of the big picture.
  • Ability to mentor, coach and effectively transfer expertise to others.
  • Budget, cost, and profitability management skills.
  • Fluent in English and French.


Desired Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or management
  • Experience creating and managing a Project Management Plan, PMP or PgMP Certification.
  • Experience driving mid to large-scale projects and programs from start to finish within highly complex operating environments.
  • Telco or Fintech experience is a plus.
