We are currently undergoing an exciting Al-First transformation and a strategic migration to Kotlin Multiplatform / Compose Multiplatform, enabling us to build once and deploy to both iOS and Android, while maintaining native look and feel on iOS.Role OverviewAs a Senior Mobile Al-First Engineer, you will be instrumental in building the next generation of mobile applications for restoration professionals working in the field. You will focus on creating intelligent mobile experiences leveraging Al agentic tools as the central collaborator in the development process, taking an orchestration role while AI handles tactical execution.This role combines deep mobile expertise in building Android/KMP applications with curiosity about, and experience in, using AI agentic IDEs and CLI tools.You will work in a cross-functional Al-First squad focused on delivering measurable outcomes for users in challenging field conditions.Your responsibilities:Kotlin Multiplatform / Compose Multiplatform development — 70%Drive feature development from idea to delivery — collaborating closely with design, product, and backendWork across a diverse set of challenges: from low-level communication with hardware over Wi-Fi to building polished user interfacesImplement robust offline-first functionality with intelligent syncTake the lead on technical decisions, architecture, and setting code standardsWork with modern tools and patterns, Kotlin Multiplatform, KMPLead by example and raise the barPush for automation, maintainability, and test coverageNative iOS/Android development — 15%Build lightning-fast native UIs in a few selected screens where 120fps is a mustImplement platform-specific features and integrate platform-specific libraries: camera, sensors, external cameras, GPS etc.Optimise app size, startup time and memory footprintCross-functional collaboration — 15%Partner with AI product engineers to ideate and implement the next generation of the application’s functionality backed by on-device and remote AI modelsPartner with backend engineers to design mobile-optimised APIsEngage with field users for feedback and usability testingParticipate in cross-functional planning and continuous improvementWhat you bring:AI ToolsSolid experience in using AI tools like Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot in your day-to-day workHard skills7+ years of experience shipping Android/KMP applicationsTop-level expertise in Jetpack Compose/Compose MultiplatformSome experience with iOS developmentStrong portfolio of released applicationsExposure to system-level observability, feature flagging, and design systemsSoft skillsStrong problem-solving skills with focus on user experienceOutcome-oriented: focused on user productivity and business impactEagerness to learn and adapt to the rapidly changing AI landscapeCollaborative mindset for working in cross-functional teamsExcellent communication skills in EnglishNice to haveExperience with offline-first appsExperience integrating external devices over WiFi or BluetoothAR / 3D visualization experienceWhat we offer:A fully remote team with an office hub in Potsdam with Berlin-based team members enjoying a hybrid schedule, working from the office approximately 50% of the timeGreenfield project (application rewrite) and an opportunity to shape its future from the early daysTraining budget: courses, conferences etc.Flexible working arrangements including remote workLatest MacBook Pro / high-spec Android devices for testing
