Globe 24-7 in partnership with a key client are working together to source an experienced and qualified German-speaking- Technical Director - Recycling for their team in Paris.
The Responsibilities
- Creating and implementing effective recycling processes.
- Overseeing a technical team and ensuring they have the resources needed to work efficiently. This includes recruiting and training staff, setting clear goals and objectives, and tracking progress.
- Ensuring the business complies with regulations related to recycling and waste management. This involves staying informed about regulatory changes, monitoring compliance, and making necessary adjustments.
- Advising local businesses on establishing and maintaining technical standards, including developing guidelines for recycling processes and ensuring equipment meets required standards in close collaboration with local management.
- Identifying and adopting new technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of recycling processes, which includes researching, testing, and collaborating with technical teams for implementation.
- Developing and overseeing budgets for the technical aspects of the business. This includes forecasting costs, monitoring expenditures, and adjusting as needed to maintain financial viability.
- Presenting analysis on the company's technological status, goals, and progress.
- Identifying technologies that can enhance the company's products and services.
- Providing technical support to operations to define and optimize operational procedures, as well as devising the best strategies for process control and quality management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the recycling or waste management industry, metal recycling business is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and technical standards.
- Curious on new recycling technologies and trends.
- Results-oriented with a strong performance record, able to drive performance and profitability.
- Strong budgeting and financial management skills, high level of organization and detail-orientation.
- Good oral and written communication skills in German and English, French is plus.
