Position overview
We are seeking an experienced application engineer with a specialization in lasers for high-speed fiber optic communication . The primary objective of this role is to facilitate the adoption of our innovative CW-WDM laser source by our key customers. This involves contributing to and consolidating the specifications for our products, firmware, and evaluation boards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical support to guide customers through the product evaluation, system integration, and troubleshooting processes.
- Contribute to the specifications of an electronics ASIC and firmware to control integrated laser arrays.
- Oversee the development and validation of the evaluation board to guarantee optimal operation and performance of the integrated laser arrays.
- Build strong relationships with lead customers, acting as a key technical liaison.
- Provide on-site support, training, and technical expertise at overseas locations as needed.
- Prepare the data sheets and application notes for the integrated laser arrays, ASIC, firmware and evaluation boards
Qualifications
Master’s degree in electrical engineering or optics, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with continuous-wave DFB lasers with strong understanding of optical communication systems.
Proficiency in using optical and electronic test equipment (e.g., optical spectrum analysers, power meters, bit error rate testers).
Experience collaborating with firmware or ASIC design teams and designing evaluation boards
Skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to manage complex systems.
Understanding of high-speed modulation formats and transceiver integration.
Knowledge of programming or scripting languages for firmware testing is a plus.
Additional requirements
Willingness and ability to travel internationally to provide on-site technical support and collaborate with partners.
Ability to adapt to diverse working environments and cultural settings.
