We are seeking a Data Science Lead to join their dynamic team and establish and lead the nascent data science function within the organization. You will be instrumental in shaping the data strategy, selecting the right technology solutions and tools, and championing data-driven decision-making across the company. Strategy: Define and implement the data science vision and strategy aligned with the company’s objectives
Build the data science team as the organization grows, starting immediately with one Data Scientist.
Technology: Identify and implement the most suitable data science tools and solutions to meet the objectives and scale up the efforts.
Oversee the development of adequate and efficient data pipelines and processes to ensure the end-to-end data processing is reliable, accurate, scalable, and monitored.
Data science: Lead the development of complex ML models (e.g. prediction, clustering, outlier identification, classification, regression, generation) and solutions to enable and promote data-driven insights to support preclinical research.
Collaboration: Work closely with the software engineering team (7 people) and other departments to integrate data science solutions.
Promote data science methodologies and best practices across the organization.
Project Management: Oversee data science projects from conception to deployment, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
Expertise in data science tools and platforms (Databricks, TensorFlow, DataRobot, Palantir, Apache Spark, C3.PyTorch, Python, R, Julia, SQL), and familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, D3.js).
Extensive experience in data analysis, statistical modelling, ML, and LLM, with a solid understanding of various data science methodologies, their best-practices, and their practical applications.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
Leadership Experience: Proven track record in leading data science projects and teams, demonstrating strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
Industry Experience: Minimum 7 years of real-life experience with a variety of data, ideally with exposure to both small and large-scale projects.
A proactive and innovative approach, with a passion for exploring new technologies and methodologies in data science.
Detail-Oriented: Keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all data-related tasks
Innovative Impact: You will directly contribute to groundbreaking research, enhancing the predictability and success of preclinical studies, making a tangible difference in the biomedical and pharmaceutical fields.
Strategic Influence: As the Data Science Lead, you will have a strategic role in influencing the company’s direction and success, reporting directly to the CTO and working closely with the CEO to drive impactful data-driven decisions.
