Ashi Studio, a renowned haute couture house based in Paris, is seeking an experienced Senior Fabric Specialist to join its team. The role will be responsible for sourcing, selecting, and developing exceptional fabrics and materials for our Haute Couture collections, special projects, and private client creations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and select luxury fabrics, textiles, embroideries, and specialist materials in line with the creative direction of each collection.
- Travel regularly across European markets to visit mills, suppliers, showrooms, and textile fairs.
- Work closely with the Creative Director, Design Studio, and Atelier to identify the most suitable fabrics for each silhouette and client requirement.
- Develop bespoke fabrics, colours, finishes, and exclusive materials with suppliers when required.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with leading mills, suppliers, and textile partners.
- Negotiate pricing, minimum quantities, lead times, and delivery conditions.
- Ensure fabrics meet Ashi Studio’s standards of quality, craftsmanship, and Haute Couture excellence.
- Continuously research new materials, techniques, and textile innovations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in fabric sourcing, textile development, or a similar role within Haute Couture or luxury fashion.
- Extensive knowledge of luxury fabrics, textiles, finishes, and construction.
- Strong established network of premium fabric mills and suppliers.
- Excellent understanding of fabric suitability, movement, structure, and quality.
- Strong eye for colour, texture, and material selection.
- Ability to manage multiple developments and work within demanding collection deadlines.
- Willingness to travel regularly across Europe.
- Fluent in French or English; Italian is an advantage. xuezdbg
