Mechanical Engineer for Design Development Process

**Alstom is looking for Mechanical Engineer to join our Central Engineering team based in Alstom Headquarters near Paris. The central department has for responsibility to define Design rules & processes and their deployment to Alstom’s engineering community (19 sites).
In this role you will help to address high level of expertise to all worldwide projects and put in place design solutions and methodologies for continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities:
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Alstom’s Design Approach (involving progressive maturity process, system engineering supported by extended 3D models) by:
- Gathering and improving the best Practices of all Engineering Sites.
- Creating library of relevant examples available in the Digital Mock-up.
- Improving through the Design Approach the consideration/optimization of Train Level Performances such as Train Capacity, Weight, Structural behaviour, Thermal Comfort, Riding Comfort, Passenger Flow, Passenger Information, Acoustics
- Participate in the deployment and support to Engineering sites around the world
- Participate to the Development and Evaluation of Design Solutions with respect to different criteria such as: Manufacturability, Recyclability, Maintainability, Reliability, Ergonomics,
Travel (a few days per month) may also be required.
Your profile:
- You have about 5+ years of experience, including at least 3 years as mechanical engineer on complex mechanical systems.
- Strong Mechanical Engineering fundamentals on Design, Mechanical Strength and Manufacturing Processes.
- Significant Experience using CAD Software managing large assembly models and drawings (Preference for Catia / 3D Experience)
- System-level thinker and able to perform detailed work.
- Pragmatic and structured, you are at ease in ever-changing environment.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written, in English (French will be a plus )
