**Mission**:
TreeFrog Therapeutics Japan is looking for a Scientist with expertise in Stem Cell Biology.

**Mission**
Based in Kobe, under the responsibility and supervision of the Lead Scientist Japan, the Scientist will be in charge of:

- Handling experimental design, short and long-term project planning, experimental execution, interpretation of results, and reporting.
- Maintenance of cell cultures as needed: experience with feeder-free 2D and/or aggregates iPSC culture (thawing, maintenance, and freezing) is mandatory.
- Maintenance of state-of-the art knowledge of relevant stem cell therapy approaches and techniques
- Supervision of future technical staff
- Lab maintenance: guarantee availability of reagents, reagents preparation, and maintenance of equipment and instruments calibration.
- Assistance and contribution (after initial training) during cell encapsulation

A one-month period of onboarding in TreeFrog HQ in France will initiate the Scientist to TreeFrog’s technology and corporate culture.

Short domestic business trips to deploy TreeFrog’s technology as well as possible trips to TreeFrog French HeadOffice are part of the Scientist’s mission.

- be willing to communicate both in Japanese (written/spoken) and (basic) English (mandatory).

- be organized and ensure the respect of procedures and keep detailed documentation of the experimental work.

**Qualifications / experience**:
Scientist: PhD in cell biology, bioengineering, regenerative medicine, or related engineering or life science field with an additional post-doctoral experience (academic research and/or industry).

**Scientific knowledge, experience and know-how**
The following skills are a pre-requisite:

- Mammalian tissue culture skills, including human iPSC
- Experience or expertise in some of the following in vitro assays: flow cytometry and cell sorting, molecular biology, immunofluorescent microscopy, gene editing techniques (including viral and non-viral delivery methods), proteome analysis, (sc) RTqPCR, ELISA.
- Organized and detailed documentation of experimental work, including generation of new process quality documentation as needed

**Skills and know-how**
Additional skills would be appreciated:

- Human iPS cell differentiation into therapeutics cell lineages related to: neurology, cardiac, liver, ocular, immune system, diabetesand characterization of the derived cells.
- 3D tissue culture such as: organoids, tissue engineering, or primary tissue samples
- Experience with bioreactor systems
- Expertise on cryopreservation/vitrification of cell products
- Experience in cGMP practices, cell therapy initiatives, intellectual property, or regulatory processes
- Experience or expertise with microfluidics, biomaterials, biomechanics, high throughput screening assays, organ-on-a-chip methods.
- Experience on bioinformatic analysis of DNAseq and (sc)RNAseq dataset
