Accountant

Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Financial Reporting: Assisting with preparation and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and IFRS.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage invoicing, payments, and reconciliation of accounts. - General Ledger: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
- Audit Support and external providers: Assist with internal and external audits, along with other external providers by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial statements.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Process Improvement: Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and operations.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and laws.

**What we would love to see from you**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1+ years of accounting/audit experience.
- Good knowledge of GAAP, IFRS and financial reporting standards.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English and Italian (advantage)
