How You’ll Make an Impact
- Execute package R&D projects supporting innovation and cost reduction efforts in all methods and processes associated with the development of turbomachinery packages
- Pursue innovative concepts and technologies that can disrupt the turbomachinery packaging business, with a focus on solutions that reduce the cost but meet the customers’ performance expectations
- Follow client technology needs and competitor activities, initiating actions accordingly to develop turbo-machinery package solutions that improve our market position and are driven by a clear customer focus (value, cost, and time to market)
- Maintain awareness of technology development trends in the marketplace including efforts by competitors and other research institutions
- Evaluate technologies relevant to packaging including lube oil system components and seal gas supply system components
- Evaluate concepts/ solutions for baseplate cost-out, integrated design with other sub-systems
- Evaluate seal technologies to reduce seal gas demand, eliminate gas seal emissions
- Develop standard package designs to reduce engineering on order execution and simplify supply chain
What You Bring
- Must be fluent in English language, oral and written
- Proven “can-do” attitude, and willingness to independently conduct investigations, read relevant industry specifications, and to develop knowledge in areas related to the job function (self-learner).
- Strong written and oral communication skills supported by inter-personal skills that support working with cross-functional teams as a member of a global, multicultural organization across different SE locations
- Experience with process flow diagrams, basic process equipment function and P&IDs used in the oil and gas industry.
- Experienced with the usual configuration and function of the auxiliary systems required to support the operation of turbomachinery packages in the Oil and Gas or other relevant market segment (Lube oil systems, dry gas seals systems, instrumentation and control systems, etc).
- Ability to manage time effectively to achieve delivery of work against agreed schedules.
- Experience with mechanical systems and mechanical design
- Experience with typical package components including pumps, valves, filters, instrumentation, controls, baseplate, heat exchangers, scrubbers, etc.
- Experience with Siemens NX for 3D modeling and design
- Ability to understand client specifications and requirements, and to properly establish flow-down of the customer’s functional needs to the solution being developed.
- Experience with ANSYS solid mechanics is a plus
- Experience with equipment layout (3-D modeling) and aspects related to the packaging of turbomachinery/compression trains is a plus.
- Direct experience with the specification, sizing and operation of the auxiliary systems required to support the operation of turbomachinery packages in the Oil and gas segment is a plus.
