Security Sales Specialist Senior Manager

You will lead a high performing sales team acting as a key growth engine for BT Global, while helping us make the world a safer place.

As a leader you will have the ability to influence the market by providing thought leadership to our customers, helping them shape their strategy and positioning BT as leader in the security space. As a trusted advisor to customers you will assist them in sensitive and serious situations.

In addition you will have the ability to influence the strategic direction of BT Security through the knowledge and understanding gained from clients and industry peers. Provides the pivotal “voice of the customer” feedback and advice back into BT Security through first hand customer interaction. Interpretation of customer and industry trends to help shape BT Policy and approach.

As a team leader and a people manager you will assist us in making BT Security a preferred employer for Security professionals that share the same sense of purpose

**What you’ll be doing**
- Sets customer engagement plan for the vertical specialist solutions
- Promotes customer engagement and uses internal and external network to assess changing customer requirements and engagement levels
- Shares appropriate level of knowledge with other Global Sales channels to drive standardisation of best practice and common knowledge
- Creates, owns and drives the Global Vertical Sales Specialist Solution strategy and plans (annual and mid-term)
- Leads and Acts as a 'centre of excellence' for vertical sales specialists, accountable for developing sales specialist best practice within Global.
- Works closely with Sales Directors and Client Partners to understand their pipeline strategy and opportunity; their customer needs and their specialist needs.
- Aligns capability to realise key opportunities. Building / rebuilding / establishing the right solutions capability to take BT into the next phase of product and solution selling in the Vertical
- Likely to have a minimum of 5 years specialist sales management experience in Security Telco or Technology sectors with previous experience of managing people managers.
- Advanced personal sales experience in Security, Telco or Technology sectors with proven credibility to operate at C-suite level with Global customers
- Significant new business sales experience.
- Large complex bid leadership (0-18 months)
- Experience of driving virtual teams to deliver necessary business results.
- Awareness of a range of selling techniques and a professionally recognised accreditation
Skills and Experience
- Customer Engagement: Ability to engage with senior level, internally and externally, building deep relationships as a trusted advisor
- Strategy: Can develop clear insight led strategies for growing the security business.
- Excellent strategic leader with a proven track record of building high performing, well-motivated teams and capabilities.
- Knowledgeable in strategy, the drivers of organisational performance, and investment - including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. performance KPIs, business cases, programme directorship) Member of a professional body e.g. Institution of Engineering and Technology.
- Analytical: Excellent analytical & financial skills.
- Governance: Strong governance knowledge; putting in place the appropriate frameworks, tracking and KPI reporting.
- Change: Change management skills.
- Product / Portfolio: Good understanding of Security solutions and products and the benefits case for global customers.
- Communication and presentation: Strong interpersonal skills for working with customers and BT teams at a variety of levels ranging from senior exec to team members.
- Ability to navigate complex organizations and matrix structures.
- People management skills and ability to act as a mentor.
- Experience you would be expected to have
- MANDATORY
- Calm & Decisive under pressure - effective at driving calm and effective incident response under pressure at CxO, VP level.
- Typically qualified to degree level, or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Cyber Security or related degree.
- Experienced in people management in complex matrix structures with teams bigger than 20 people and mid management functions.
- Have successfully led sales teams across several European countries.
- Have successfully executed against sales budgets >50m.
- PREFERRED
- Experience in handling large and complex security incidents - calm and decisive under pressure.
- Knowledgeable in strategy, the drivers of organisational performance, and investment - including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. performance KPIs, business cases, programme directorship) Member
