With the GSCO globalization strategy in mind, the Europe Senior Director of Supply Chain will be responsible to lead the development of an Europe supplier base for comestic packaging and formulation, to manage the projects in the region and to scale up a supply chain team in the region to manage aspects of the supplier management and procurement activities in conjunction to working with the Asian and North American teams on imported products.
**Responsibilities**:
- Establish the Supply Chain/Procurement function in the Meiyume Europe office and strategize the extension of supply chain footprint into Eastern Europe
- Manage the existing team to handle all aspects of the supply chain: supplier qualifications, sourcing, program management, supplier & partner management, cost negotiation, lead-time management, quality assurance, quality issue resolution, compliance & sustainability and procurement.
- Work in close collaboration with supply chain teams in Asia and North American to formulate global category strategy and global supplier base strategy.
- Identify and establish a supplier base in Europe/Eastern Europe for cosmetic packaging (lipsticks, color compact, fragrance bottles, fragrance caps, skincare, off-the-shelf items, customized items), cosmetic formulations (skincare, color)
- Program manage full turnkey (ODM) projects for Europe cosmetic customers
- Handle sourcing and production with Europe suppliers. Manage their ongoing performance.
- Provide quality assurance and in case of customer complaints, handle quality issues (short & term actions and CLCA) and communication with customers.
- Work in close collaboration with the EU Commercial team to support their growth objectives and deliverables to customers.
- Develop new processes and drive continuous improvement on existing processes to achieve step function advancement on productivity and time to market.
- Anticipate trends and identify new technologies and innovations in manufacturing, material, customer behaviors and drive changes ahead of market.
- Provide cross functional leadership not only within GSCO but also to other business units for the benefit of Meiyume.
- Develop the project plan, set the milestones, monitor the project progress and control the supply chain processes to achieve the deadline.
- Potentially needed to support European factory on sourcing of packaging material and raw material.
Requirement
- Bachelor Degree
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in supply chain/procurement/supplier management field in multinational companies.
- Minimum 5 years in management or leadership position
- Broad supply chain experience including supplier management, commodity (category) management, quality, product engineering, program management, manufacturing operations.
- Expertise in key areas of supply chain from a global strategic level to an operational level
- Has experience of supporting factory on strategic sourcing/procurement.
- Knowledge of S&OP a plus
- Knowledge of SAP a plus
- Proven people leader with experience on leading and building team
- Proven negotiator and influencer with the ability to build a professional relationship and trusted by all levels of the business and the company
- Proven experience in leading change and being a change agent
- Excellent business acumen and understanding of the market trend
- Good knowledge in mechanical components and/or cosmetic formulation (chemical) including metal stamping, die casting, plating, plastic injection molding, raw material (chemical) sourcing and mixing
