**OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME**:
The World Health Organization's Academy ('The Academy') is a new state-of-the-art learning institution that aims to revolutionize lifelong learning for health impact and reach million learners around the world. Based in Lyon, France, the Academy Campus will offer a wide range of learning modalities (on-line, face-to-face and blended); digital, in-person learning via the hub in Lyon or through the campus network, as well as portable learning laboratories designed for contexts where participants cannot travel or access the digital learning platform. The Academy is an integral part of the WHO under the management authority of the Director-General. The overall goal of the Academy is to advance the learning and human development component of WHO's General Programme of Work (GPW) and health sustainable development goals. More specifically the Academy will: enhance the competencies of millions of people through cutting-edge digital learning and hybrid learning, including leaders, practitioners, catalysts and lay people. The WHO Academy will deliver advanced digital and in-person learning to health policy practitioners, health workers and WHO workforce. The Academy campus will be officially launched in Autumn 2024 as a global initiative combining the latest technologies in digital and remote learning with advancements in adult learning science to offer innovative, personalized and multilingual learning that meets priority needs.
**DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES**:
Under the leadership and guidance of the Team Lead Quality Assurance and Standards, the purpose of the position is to provide educational quality and standards expertise to develop the Academy's quality management system and learner achievement and recognition framework. The incumbent will carry out the following duties:
- Provide guidance and facilitate the implementation of the quality and learning design cycle as developed by the Learning Design and Production Team.
- Implement the quality assurance framework for all learning programmes.
- Manage the development and implementation of the learning recognition framework.
- Coordinate quality reviews of learning programmes.
- Organize quality reviews of learning programmes not produced in the Academy that are to be integrated into the Academy catalogue.
- Coordinate with the technology team to ensure the integration of the learner achievement and recognition framework on the LXP.
- Acts as secretary for the Academy's Quality Committee.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**:
**Essential**: An advanced level university degree (Master's level or above) in education, quality management, social sciences, learning design, or other related field relevant to the position.
**Desirable**: Qualification in Public Health or related field.
**Experience**:
**Essential**:
- At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in health education or training design, including implementing education or learning programmes.
- Experience in designing and implementing quality standards into learning programmes and/or designing and implementing evidence-based assessments for learning programmes.
- A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience at the international level.
**Desirable**:
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating and managing diverse teams.
- Demonstrated experience within the context of lifelong learning and/or digital learning courses.
**Skills**:
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in educational quality standard frameworks and quality management systems.
- Ability to communicate and negotiate with a wide variety of people including learning designers, health specialists and various Technical Stakeholders.
- Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, research, and write reports.
