Alstom is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to join our Train Design pre-engineering team of the Rolling Stock division located in Paris Saint-Ouen. You will join the rolling stock Team in Paris, a fully integrated team supporting the Group’s value creation by operationally delivering specific tenders and projects, as well as R&D and sustaining activities. The Paris team has been leading the development of projects like new Avelia liberty for Amtrak, Dubai 2020 Metro. We are starting new projects such as tramways in Cologne, as 100 electrical trains just wined for Denmark and more to come

Propose Design Concept compliant to Metier Rules and standardization
Define detailed design according to weight, cost, requirement
Support Manufacturing and Maintenance teams during Production ramp-up
Collaborate with Mechanical Domain Leader for continuous improvement of the Metier (including Return of Experience)
What are your responsibilities?
Define robust design inside train environment taken into account all constraints (manufacturability,maintenance, performances )
Pilote Mechanical Domain deliverables with designers team (3-4 people) on project following planning of development taking into account applicable instructions/processes/ Engineering Rules and other specific Customer (internal or external) requirements.
Resolve Project Mechanical issues and following challenging actions (single-domain) and define mitigation plans covering a risk identified on Project Mechanical Domain scope.
Coordinate Mechanical Domain contributors on Project.
What do you need to qualify for this job?
Mechanical Engineering Master or equivalent, at least 5 years of experience in mechanical integration within an engineering department in the transport sector, ideally in railway.
Strong knowledge of design and mechanical integration.
Knowledge of Catia V5 for modelling and PDM solution to manage digital mock-up (DMA, enovia, teamcenter.)
A structured and organized hands-on approach.
English at a professional level, to be used mostly to read and write documents and to lead technical meeting orally.
