**Missions**:
Un contrat postdoctoral est ouvert au LPNHE pour travailler en priorité (au moins 60 % du temps) sur la préparation de la calibration, les tests et la mise en service de la caméra NectarCAM qui équipera les télescopes de taille intermédiaire sur le site Nord de l’observatoire Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA). Le ou la postdoctorant.e aura un rôle décisif dans le développement et la maintenance du pipeline et du cadre logiciel de calibration pour NectarCAM, nectarchain. nectarchain est un code implémenté en Python, modulaire, pour la calibration, les tests et la validation des données acquises sur le modèle de qualification de NectarCAM, et le groupe du LPNHE est fortement impliqué dans son développement.
Le ou la postdoctorant.e développera au besoin de nouveaux modules pour nectarchain, en soutien au programme d’intégration en cours au CEA/Irfu, situé à Saclay en région parisienne, et assurera son intégration continue ainsi que sa compatibilité avec ctapipe, qui est utilisé en aval pour la discrimination et la reconstruction des événements de CTA. Afin d’assurer la qualité du code et sa maintenabilité, le ou la postdoctorant.e suivra des standards de programmation de qualité, incluant la conception de tests unitaires pertinents, et la documentation du code.
Le ou la postdoctorant.e participera au programme de tests de NectarCAM, incluant des shifts de prise de données et d’analyse au CEA/Irfu (et possiblement à La Palma lors du déploiement sur site). Il ou elle travaillera en collaboration étroite avec les membres NectarCAM de l’ensemble des laboratoires partenaires.

**Activités**:
Concernant le volet d’analyse, il ou elle s’intégrera dans les thématiques scientifiques développées dans le groupe, et pourra en parallèle également développer un sujet de son choix portant sur l’analyse et l’interprétation des données de H.E.S.S. ou les futures possibilités offertes avec CTA.

**Compétences**:
Le contrat postdoctoral est financé par l’IR* CTA pour deux ans. Le démarrage du contrat est prévu au 1er Octobre 2024, mais une date antérieure ou ultérieure peut être envisagée.

**Contexte de travail**:
Le LPNHE fait également partie du nœud de la grille européenne (EGI) francilien (GRIF), hébergeant des capacités de calcul et de stockage de taille intermédiaire mais qui contribue significativement notamment aux traitements de simulations de H.E.S.S. et de CTA.
