**What to Expect**
The Market Compliance Manager is responsible for designing and executing registration strategies to access European electricity markets with Tesla’s algorithmic trading solution, Autobidder. The Autobidder team develops systematic software solutions for monetizing energy storage systems by continuously forecasting electricity market prices, analyzing key market trends, and actively re-optimizing behavior. We have repeatedly demonstrated success in all active markets in residential, commercial, and utility-scale settings.
Work location: Amsterdam, Netherlands or France.

**What You'll Do**
- Drive our market registration to become a BRP (balance responsible party) and BSP (balancing services provide) to support the expansion of Autobidder into France and other European markets.
- Set requirements and work with commercial functions to design and build business processes, systems and operations to ensure compliance.
- Define and manage compliance and risk management frameworks, manage all compliance reporting requirements and responses to requests for information from regulatory authorities and system operators.
- Ensure Tesla’s energy market participation function is considered in good standing with regulatory authorities and system operators, and escalate risks appropriately. Support dispute resolutions concerning fines penalties.
- Work with the Policy team to track policy & regulatory developments, proactively engage and educate key external stakeholders on Tesla’s positions on market design and blockers to unlocking the full flexibility of BESS assets.
- Coordinate with regional and global Tesla teams, such as Policy, Engineering, Product, Commercial, and Legal, to setup new business functions in a way that reflects Tesla’s bias for action.

- Définir et gérer les cadres de conformité et de gestion des risques, gérer toutes les exigences relatives au rapport de conformité et les réponses aux demandes de renseignement des autorités réglementaires et opérateurs de systèmes.
- S’assurer que la fonction de participation au marché énergétique de Tesla est considérée comme étant en règle par les autorités réglementaires et les gestionnaires de réseau, et prioriser les risques de manière appropriée. Fournir de l’aide dans les résolutions des litiges concernant les amendes et pénalités.
- Travailler avec l’équipe chargée des Politiques pour suivre l’évolution des politiques et de la réglementation, engager et éduquer de manière proactive les principales parties prenantes externes sur les positions de Tesla relativement à la conception du marché et aux bloqueurs pour révéler toute la flexibilité des actifs BESS.
- Travailler en coordination avec les équipes régionales et globales de Tesla, comme l’équipe chargée des politiques, les équipes d’ingénieurs, les responsables des produits, les commerciaux et juristes afin de mettre en place de nouvelles fonctions opérationnelles de manière à refléter le penchant pour l’action de Tesla.
**What You'll Bring**
- Degree in Law, Political Science, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical regulatory documents and communicating complex topics in French and English.
- Strong understanding of electricity markets and energy trading, particularly in the French market.
- Expertise working with regulatory and licensing authorities to gain market participant authorizations in France (or Europe).
- Experience in developing compliance and risk management frameworks, identifying and mitigating risks, and driving business impact.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with diverse, global teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, quick learning ability, and bias for action.
