The Field Application Scientist is responsible for the technical support for IDT’s Archer Next Generation Sequencing product lines FusionPlex, VariantPlex, LiquidPlex and Immunoverse. The focus of this position is to enable our customer’s success and satisfaction by providing dedicated onsite and remote assistance on library preparation related inquiries. This position’s main territory will be France.
Job duties
Provide best in class technical support for IDT’s Archer NGS customers on-site as well as remotely.
Coordinate and conduct NGS library preparation trainings of the Archer product lines at customer sites
Provide remote customer educations on library preparation and data analysis topics via video calls
Discuss and resolve challenging cases collaboratively with other members of the customer success team
Assist the Sales team in pre-sales conversations, when technical expertise is required
Build and maintain fruitful relationships with customers
Work collaboratively with internal teams to assess market conditions and identify new opportunities
Stay involved in current scientific topics and share new insights with the team
Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal and external learning resources, including our internal knowledge base
Maintain appropriate records in IDT’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool
Be aware of IDT’s policy on and contribute to quality and environmental management by adhering to the requirements of the ISO 9001, 13485 and 14001 standards and internal procedures and work instructions.
Demonstrates behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values.
Job Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, or Biochemistry. An equivalent combination of training and experience will also be considered
Extensive hands-on experience with and theoretical knowledge of NGS library preparations and sequencing required
Expertise in troubleshooting technical issues and resolving highly technical inquiries and support requests from customers or members of the scientific community
Previous experience as Field Applications Scientist or in a similar commercial role in the genomics industry preferred
Experience analyzing NGS data, including using tools such as IGV or JBrowse, preferred
Experience working with CRM systems like Salesforce preferred
Fluency in English and French is a must have.
Willingness to travel (up to 50-75%) within France and Europe, as well as occasional intercontinental travel required. Location close to a major traffic hub preferred.
Stellar communication and technical presentation skills
Ability to nurture external and internal relationships
Strong drive for customer satisfaction
Ability to working independently as well as collaboratively
