Cristóbal Balenciaga founded the House in 1917 in his home of Spain. In 1937, he established the brand in Paris, designing its collections there until 1968. Cristóbal Balenciaga had a reputation as a couturier of uncompromising standards and was referred to as "the master of us all" by Christian Dior and as “The Couturier of the Couturiers” by Gabrielle Chanel. The ultra-modern shapes were trademarks of the house.
While the brand’s identity is firmly rooted in its highly conceptual prêt-à-porter collections, its leather goods, footwear, and accessories experience worldwide success as well. Among the archetypal products of the House are its handbag collections. A new focus on the development of Balenciaga ready-to-wear collections for men was quickly established as highly successful.
Since October 2015, Demna has designed both men’s and women’s collections as the artistic director.

- Your opportunity_
The Merchandising Manager Europe will lead and fulfill buying strategy in alignment with HQ direction and local strategy, stock management to achieve target sell thru and to attain sales goals.
The perimeter is composed of all Europe Retail Stores.
You will work in close collaboration with the EMEA Marketing and Communication team, Europe and Worldwide Merchandising Team, Retail Europe structure (Retail Management, Finance, Operations) and with the Worldwide Central Supply Chain and Post Distribution Teams.
- How you will contribute_
- Best and Slow Seller follow up
- Monitoring ST% with stock optimization based on each store activities
- Market visit to better understand needs and support specific request for each market
- Readjust strategy of store allocation supported with strong efficient stock optimization (transfers between stores on weekly basis)
- Strong analytical market comprehension and pro-actively debriefe HQ merchandising and collection Merchandising on products needs (Competitors Benchmark)
- In charge of Store Communication on ones category (specific tools to provide)
- Responsible of Seasonal orders per store with ST% target ambition given by HQ
- Lead Category mIx towards Brands objectives
- Monitor Full Price and Markdown product strategy at region and store level
- Define Seasonal OTB per category
- Team up peers/counterparts to manage, plan, execute and coordinate special projects and programs to ensure high quality results delivered within the given timeframe and bearing with company goals
- Direct Reporting of Category Buyer and Trainee.
- Who you are_
- You have a first experience as Retail Merchandiser for 5/6 years in Retail and Luxury industry and have Followed up of Retail stores directly for minimum 2 years.
- Capacity to take quick decisions to make business move fast
- Analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to lead presentation toward a wide audience
- Ability to manage relations with multiple interlocutors in a multicultural context.
- Excellent command of computer tools (Excel & Power Point).
- Fluent in English and French - Additional language would be a plus.
