- As part of our ambitious growth strategy, we are looking to strengthen our Natural Colors Science & Technology team with a senior color Scientist.- With a strong background and expertise in chemistry you will be a key member of the color team. Your main responsibility will be to define and lead new innovative research programs for the natural colors category, all the way to successful industrialization and commercialization.- You will be based in Avignon, France (on-site role, #LI-Onsite) and will report directly to the Category Technical Leader.**In this exciting role you will**:

- Strengthen the color innovation roadmap by proposing and assessing new ideas, proposing technical solutions to answer market needs
- Provide technical leadership in caramel colors, define with category technical leader success criteria
- Design and execute research projects in alignment with the category innovation strategy
- Contribute to protect our innovation with strong patents and actively participate in IP strategy development within projects managed
- Drive scientific understanding of caramel chemistry to deliver impactful innovation solutions to our customers globally
- Lead innovation projects and ensure that milestones are met to drive successful innovation to market
- Identify new methodologies and/or technologies relevant to natural colors and pigments
- Identify and lead external collaboration projects with Universities or Industry partners
- Identify current and future resource and capability needs for color innovation
- Identify training and development needs for key technical competencies within color area

**You professional profile includes**:

- Experience in the food industry, chemistry, or food science research
- Experience in chemistry of caramel
- Knowledge of caramel color
- Preferably Master (M2) or engineering degree in chemistry or a related field with a minimum 7 years of job experience, or PhD in chemistry or carbohydrate polymer chemistry with a minimum 4 years of job experience
- Fluency In English
- Experience with food manufacturing processes is a plus
- Creative and critical thinking
- Willingness to be hands-on and passion-driven individual
- Laboratory experimental skills
- Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Must have a track record to drive scientific innovation
- Bring out on own initiative and as part of a team
- Customer focus
