**Description**:
This position will be based at the Nantes European Technical Center and is accountable for the development, launch and post-launch support of all Food coatings for the European Packaging business. As a successful leader for this role, you will need to be able to build close partnerships with key stakeholders and demonstrate strong flexibility and prioritization skills for the Packaging division in Sherwin-Williams.

**Main Tasks**:

- Leading all R&D product development activities for the Food segment in Europe,
- Achieving a multi-year product roadmap in combination with Marketing and Technology teams,
- Providing new product launches that are performance and cost driven, through close partnerships with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain and Marketing,
- Providing direct and clear communication, decisions and direction to all internal and external stakeholders,
- Support a strategic vision (Charter) for the Food segment,
- Coaching and guiding employees to ensure strong technical growth and leadership development,
- Ensuring full utilization of Sherwin’s standard business management systems,
- Fully supporting all aspects of the Stage Gate Process, enabling successful completion and commercialization of R&D Projects,
- Communicating and defining Food Polymer needs to the Global Food and Polymer Directors to assure alignment and inclusion in the Polymer development program and strategy,
- Supporting qualifying alternate production sites by participating in Product Transfers (NFI / Pi process) and ensuring all Technical activities are fully completed according to agreed timelines
- Open innovation (external technology) function for SW, including university relationships, technology scouting with employees on the ground,
- Developing an organization of world-class technical professionals and technical management to meet ongoing and long term business goals of SW,
- Other duties as assigned by Global Food Technical Director.

**Profile**:

- At least 7 years of experience in R&D, Quality, and/or Operations,
- Cross-functional experience strongly desired,
- Experience in Packaging coatings desired,
- Coatings experience is a must,
- Able to communicate/interface effectively with people from different departments and levels,
- Strong Leadership and Interpersonal skills.
- English and French,
