Temasek’s Paris office opened in 2023. Together with its London and Brussels offices, the Paris office will strengthen Temasek’s global network, and help enhance access to deal flow, partnership opportunities and the talent pool across both the European Union (EU) and the broader Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. With this new Paris office, Temasek’s global footprint will increase to 13 offices across 9 countries, expanding Temasek’s global footprint and network, giving it the opportunity to grow its organisation, talent and capabilities, in its mission to construct a resilient and forward looking portfolio.
**Job Purpose / Background**:
The Paris office of Temasek is looking for an investment professional with ~1-2 years of relevant experience to join the investment team at the Associate (“A”) or Senior Associate (“SA”) levels.
A/SAs are an integral part of the investment team, participating in all aspects of the investment process, from initial screening and due diligence, through approval, to post-investment monitoring and value creation.
**Core Functions & Responsibilities**:
- Participate in identifying and assessing investment opportunities in high-growth companies across various sub-sectors.
- Conduct research and financial analysis on target companies and assigned sub-sectors.
- Evaluate, undertake due diligence, close investments, and monitor portfolio company performance, leading them to public listing or divestment.
- Develop financial models and presentations for internal evaluation and investment committees.
- Establish and cultivate relationships with companies, corporate partners, research analysts, and other relevant institutions.
- Monitor existing portfolio companies and new direct investments against investment theses and assist with value creation.
- Assist with regular portfolio reporting and periodic firm-wide strategic initiatives.
**Qualifications & Experience**:
- Strong academic qualifications in any discipline with a passion for investing.
- 1-2 years of working experience in top-tier private equity, investment banking, corporate finance, M&A, research, asset management, corporate/business development, consulting, operational, or related fields.
- Strong analytical mindset and modelling skills.
- Good understanding of financial statements.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- High level of interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Strong team skills, comfortable with consensus decision-making, and working in a cross-border, multi-cultural team environment.
- Familiarity with electronic data sources (e.g., Bloomberg, Factiva, Capital IQ) and productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Tableau).
