Prepare and provide technical reports and method statements to substantiate the justification of civil engineering structures, site infrastructure, and earthworks at the nuclear power plant. Act as a geotechnical engineering expert for nuclear applications, as directed by the unit head across the company. Initiate and lead the preparation of technical specifications for geotechnical analysis and design packages to be subcontracted to the supply chain. Serve as a reviewer for engineering work provided internally or externally by partners/subcontractors. Actively contribute to site selection, evaluation, and characterization programs by drafting and reviewing specifications for geotechnical and geophysical survey campaigns. Interpret factual field investigation reports and prepare interpretation reports. Support the global engineering team in optimizing design and construction throughout the entire reactor lifecycle. What We Expect From You Master’s degree or higher in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, civil or structural engineering, or equivalent. Proven experience in geotechnical analysis and design within complex nuclear projects (or another highly regulated environment). Experience in the design of shallow and deep foundation systems, including seismic design and evaluation of soil‑structure interaction effects. Demonstrated knowledge of numerical modeling software for geotechnical analysis and design (FLAC, PLAXIS, etc.). Experience in site‑scale analysis of soil columns, consolidation, and settlement. Ability to undertake stability evaluation of earthworks. In‑depth knowledge of codes, standards, regulations, and operational requirements in the UK, US, or Europe. Excellent communication skills and proficiency in technical report writing. Willingness to travel in the UK and Italy to support the engineering team. Fluent English required.
