You can help us fulfil our vision 🙌 Let’s talk about the role ️ The Head of Legal is a leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s legal and regulatory requirements. This role requires a combination of leadership, legal expertise, and a deep understanding of organizational policies and laws. Stuart operates in France, UK and Poland and has employees in Spain. This position is hybrid, 3 days a week in Stuart’s Paris office. You will report to the VP of Finance, based in Paris. Please submit your CV in English. What will I be doing? 🤔 Legal Oversight & Compliance Provide expert legal advice on employment, commercial, litigation, corporate and regulatory matters across the organization. Ensure compliance with national and international laws, including employment laws, data privacy regulations, and corporate governance. Develop and maintain internal legal policies, ensuring they align with best practices and industry standards. Monitor legal and regulatory changes, advising leadership on necessary adjustments to policies and operations. Risk Management & Dispute Resolution Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Oversee any legal disputes, investigations, and litigation, working closely with external legal counsel in each jurisdiction that Stuart operates in. Support internal teams in resolving employment law issues, compliance concerns, and corporate governance matters. Corporate Governance & Ethics Advise on governance matters, ensuring the company adheres to legal and ethical standards. Support board and executive leadership with legal insights related to corporate decisions and policies. Conduct internal legal audits and implement best practices to strengthen regulatory compliance. Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication Work closely with HR, Finance, and Operations to align legal strategies with business needs. Communicate legal policies and updates effectively to senior management and employees. Act as a liaison with external legal counsel, government agencies, and industry bodies when required. Stuart currently has an external DPO who provides data protection support to the business. You will be responsible for managing this relationship. Contract Management & Negotiation Oversight Draft, review, and negotiate French contracts, including employment agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and service‑level agreements. Have oversight of English contracts. Ensure all contracts protect the company’s interests and comply with relevant legal requirements. Collaborate with internal teams, such as Finance and Operations, to assess the legal implications of business agreements. Legal Team Manage the legal team, consisting of one Legal Counsel based in Poland who is responsible for all English contracts, CLM tool, Polish legal matters, insurance and marketing. What do we need from you? 😎 7+ years of qualified legal experience, with experience working in house. Proven ability to manage and advise on legal risks in a dynamic, international environment. Expertise in employment law, litigation, commercial contracts, corporate governance, regulatory compliance and data protection. Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills. Ability to work cross‑functionally and provide strategic legal advice to business leaders with the support of external counsel. Fluency in both French and English. Registered and qualified as a legal professional.
