Role Overview We’re building an innovative SaaS platform tailored to the insurance industry. Our robust platform currently delivers significant value to our clients, combining expert systems and advanced data analysis. Our mission now is to evolve this platform into an intelligent co‑pilot for underwriters by pragmatically integrating cutting‑edge AI. We’re hiring a Senior AI/ML Engineer to design, develop, and deploy next‑generation systems. As a senior individual contributor, you will bring deep expertise in building and shipping production‑grade AI systems, play a key role in evolving our scalable infrastructure, and evaluate how to best leverage new AI paradigms in a dynamic, fast‑moving environment. Hybrid flexibility: the team is Paris‑based. Key Responsibilities Hybrid AI Systems Design Architect AI systems that combine ML algorithms, LLMs, and orchestrated agents. Prototype high‑impact business use cases: underwriting assistants, risk extraction, document processing. Design and structure AI agent teams for specific operational goals. Identify and recommend the best‑fit open‑source or proprietary tools. Product & Business Iteration Collaborate closely with the Chief Science Officer, applied ML engineers, data engineers, PMs & Ops to transition prototypes to production. Translate business value into concrete engineering actions, ensuring relevance, reliability, and robustness. Lead initiatives around data collection and evaluation pipelines (e.g., annotations, synthetic data). Contribute to internal documentation and foster adoption of AI solutions across the company. Production & Scalability Actively contribute to architectural decisions that ensure compliance, reliability, and scalability. Co‑develop a modular agentic toolbox to support future applications. Integrate AI systems into our tech stack (APIs, internal tools, libraries such as dspy). Implement observability: logging, monitoring, alerts, and dashboards to track performance. Compliance & Governance Ensure the security, traceability, and robustness of AI systems. Contribute to AI governance initiatives (metadata, usage limits, internal audits). Provide input on compliance and ethical AI usage. Technical Leadership Advocate for AI‑first approaches using agentic architectures. Promote adoption of advanced engineering practices (smart tech choices, CI/CD workflows). Be a central player in driving innovation, focused on robust, scalable, and reliable systems. Innovation & Tech Watch Stay actively informed about emerging technologies, frameworks, and methodologies in AI and ML. Test, adapt, and deploy innovative ideas aligned with business priorities, research, and product evolution. What You Bring 5–8 years of experience as an ML Engineer, AI Engineer, or similar role. Motivated by real‑world impact, not just experimentation or research. Solid academic background, but above all, a pragmatic engineering mindset. Comfortable in a structured yet fast‑moving environment where tech drives business impact. Curious, rigorous, and capable of explaining complex ideas to non‑technical teams. Tech Stack & Core Skills Must‑haves Strong production‑level Python skills (FastAPI, asyncio, testing, clean code structure). Experience with PyTorch / Hugging Face Transformers. Proven track record deploying ML models to production (fine‑tuning, optimisation, scaling). Solid understanding of RAG, embeddings, and LLM APIs. Strong MLOps culture (CI/CD, observability, Docker, AWS). Nice‑to‑haves / What you’ll explore here Experience with modern AI frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Dspy, vLLM, CrewAI, etc.). Interest in multi‑agent architectures or orchestration frameworks. Understanding of AI governance (auditability, safety, ethics). Your curiosity and willingness to build with us matter as much as your experience. Soft Skills & Mindset Strong autonomy, delivery‑driven, curious, and team‑oriented. Technical leadership and the ability to guide while remaining a high‑impact individual contributor. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
