With 1200+ colleagues in 75+ countries, we thrive on global collaboration and a flexible work model. We are hiring an Engineering Manager for Ceph & Distributed Storage. Our mission is to make Ceph easy to install, manage and use— from large enterprise data centers to half‑rack edge sites—ensuring that distributed storage remains reliable, cost‑effective and simple. Responsibilities Lead a team building a Ceph‑focused, software‑defined storage solution. Build and manage a globally distributed team of engineers. Coach, mentor, and provide actionable feedback to develop team members. Contribute directly to the engineering work, demonstrating strong engineering principles. Set realistic schedules based on realistic estimates and adjust as needed. Manage expectations with other engineering teams and external stakeholders. Advance modern, agile software development practices. Maintain a culture of quality and engineering excellence. Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with company values. Serve as an active member of the leadership team and collaborate with other leaders. Work from home with up to 20% global travel for internal and external events. Qualifications Software engineering background, preferably with Python and C++ experience. Experience operating scale‑out storage clusters on Linux in production, preferably with Ceph. Passion for new technologies and a track record of driving people’s growth. Interest in building products that improve how people operate software and infrastructure. Knowledgeable and passionate about software development. Experience leading, managing, coaching, and mentoring software developers to deliver high‑quality, timely software. Solid experience working in an agile development environment.
