With 2800+ employees, the company operates in multiple countries.What you’ll doAs Platform Engineering Director, you will drive Doctolib’s technical transformation from a monolithic architecture to a modular, multi-service environment. You will own the platform as a product, fostering autonomy while ensuring cost-efficiency, reliability, and security. You will lead a team of 30+ engineers (Infrastructure & Automation) and influence the daily experience of hundreds of engineers and millions of patients and professionals.Lead modernization: transition from a Ruby on Rails monolith to a multi-service architecture, addressing dependency management, observability, cost control, and operational processes.Platform as a Product: empower engineering teams to self-serve, deploy, and operate independently while delivering fast, secure, and cost-efficient outcomes.Autonomy at Scale: mature critical platform capabilities such as secure on-demand database provisioning, CI/CD, observability, service discovery, and self-service infrastructure.Change Management: drive culture and mindset shifts to support the transformation.Your missions & impactAccelerate modularization of Doctolib’s technical stack to enable product velocity and international scale.Develop architectural enablers that allow teams to extract and evolve patient and professional journeys, plus country- or specialty-specific features.Target at least 25% frontend code migration from the monolith this year and enable rapid internationalization through modularity.Build a Product-Grade Developer PlatformLead teams to deliver platform products (infrastructure provisioning, database on demand, ephemeral environments, CI/CD, observability) as self-service, productized experiences.Establish clear processes, robust documentation, and measurable objectives (NPS, operational load, monolith master red ratio).Drive platform adoption as the path of least resistance and foster a culture of autonomy and high standards.Accelerate development cycles to deliver new countries, clusters, and product verticals faster and with higher quality and reliability.Deliver a Major Uplift in Quality and ReliabilityTransform the quality bar by reducing incidents and increasing reliability across platform and infrastructure domains.Ensure robust, scalable, and secure database provisioning.Build an incident response function and automate security controls for world-class reliability and security.Your team and responsibilitiesThe Platform domain has three activities; you will be responsible for two: Infrastructure and Automation Platform.Infrastructure: database optimization (large AWS-hosted transactional DBs), provisioning, migration from monolith to modular systems, observability tooling.Automation Platform: CI/CD environments, AI-augmented development tools, and production incident management (Dev Duty).Who you are15+ years in software engineering, including 6+ years leading large distributed teams (30+ across multiple regions).Experience driving platform-as-a-product transformations and modularizing large architectures at scale.Proven ability to architect, deliver, and operate secure, reliable, and scalable developer platforms in SaaS or regulated environments.Strong process orientation with OKRs, monitoring/observability, and incident management.Track record of improving developer productivity, platform adoption, reliability, and cost-efficiency.Excellent communicator and influencer capable of aligning cross-functional stakeholders.Experience leading change and building people-first engineering cultures.Fluent in English; comfortable in fast-paced, international environments.Bonus pointsHealthcare, regulated, or high-compliance industry experience.Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Go, Python, React, AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Datadog, GitHub Actions.French language proficiency.Experience with AI-augmented developer tools, data mesh, or open-source contributions.M&A or post-acquisition integration experience.What We OfferFree health insurance for you and your childrenParent Care Program: one additional month of leave on top of legal parental leaveFree mental health and coaching services via Moka.careSupport for caregivers and workers with disabilities (remote policy adaptations, extra medical leave, psychological support)Work from EU countries and the UK for up to 10 days per yearWork Council subsidies for sport club or creative class membershipsUp to 14 days of RTTLunch vouchers via SwileNote: This description preserves the original substance while removing extraneous formatting and ensuring accessibility.
