Offer Description

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of new polyimide urethane vinylogous vitrimer (PIUV) formulations exhibiting an optimal balance between thermomechanical performance, thermal stability, ageing resistance, and reprocessability.

The project will combine polymer synthesis, formulation, and advanced characterization with the following objectives:

  • Design novel covalent adaptable network architectures.
  • Establish structure-property relationships between molecular architecture and bond-exchange dynamics.
  • Optimize formulations to simultaneously improve mechanical performance and recyclability.
  • Investigate the mechanisms governing material repair and reprocessing.
  • Characterize the materials using advanced techniques including rheology, dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), thermal analysis (DSC and TGA), spectroscopy, and structural characterization.

Location Department of Chemistry and Macromolecular Materials, Charles Gerhardt Institute of Montpellier (ICGM), France, and Safran.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Polymer Chemistry and have strong expertise in the synthesis and characterization of thermosetting polymers. Experience or interest in advanced polymeric materials, dynamic polymer networks, and high-performance materials will be highly appreciated. Candidates should demonstrate scientific curiosity, independence, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment.
