You will work at the interface of molecular biology, biochemistry, microfluidics, hardware & system integration, contributing directly to the design and industrialization of next-generation processes for writing, storing, and reading digital information encoded in DNA.Key ResponsibilitiesMethod Development & OptimizationDesign, execute, and refine molecular biology and biochemical workflows for DNA synthesis, amplification, purification, and sequencing, to fit integration contraints.Develop robust protocols for high-throughput, automation-compatible experimental steps.Design, test, and troubleshoot microfluidic devices and fluid-handling systems for DNA manipulation.Collaborate with scientists and engineering teams to integrate microfluidic modules into automated platforms / futur product.Optimize flow control, reagent routing, droplet generation, and sample handling.Hardware IntegrationInterface with mechanical, electronic, and software engineering teams to integrate biological workflows into hardware systems.Define technical requirements, contribute to system architecture, and ensure seamless interaction between wet-lab processes and hardware modules.Participate in prototyping, testing, and validation of automated instruments.Process IndustrializationTranslate R&D protocols into scalable, reproducible processes suitable for manufacturing.Implement Quality Control strategies, process metrics, and documentation.Contribute to risk analysis, failure mode analysis, and continuous improvement.Cross-functional CollaborationWork closely with scientists, engineers, and data teams to align biological processes with system-level constraints.Communicate results through clear documentation, reports, and presentations.About youThis job is made for you if you haveMaster’s degree or PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Microfluidics, or related fields.Proven hands-on expertise in molecular biology techniques (PCR, qPCR, NGS library prep, DNA assembly, purification, etc.).Experience in microfluidics design, fabrication, or operation (droplet systems, lab-on-chip, flow control).Familiarity with fluidic hardware (pumps, valves, sensors, micro-channels) and laboratory automation.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously in a multidisciplinary environment.Excellent communication, documentation, and project-management abilities.What would be a plusExperience in DNA data storage, DNA synthesis or sequencing technologies.Familiarity with CAD tools for microfluidics (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, COMSOL).Experience with automation platforms (Opentrons, Hamilton, Liquid handers, custom systems).Programming skills (Python, MATLAB) for data analysis or hardware control.Knowledge of instrumentation, electromechanical integration, or embedded systems is a strong plus.Softskills we are looking for:Teamwork, team spiritAutonomous and ability to work effectively,Demonstrated proactivity,Organizational skills,Critical thinking, technical rigour,Solution oriented,Openness to constructive feedbacks,Communication and knowledge sharing skills,Intellectual and personal rigor.What We OfferA chance to shape the future of DNA-based digital storage.A multidisciplinary environment bridging biology, engineering, and computing.Opportunities for innovation, prototyping, and scientific/technical leadership.A collaborative team with significant growth potential.The position is onsite, based at our office located at 5 Impasse Reille in Paris (14 th arrondissement).The workspace combines modern classic offices with advanced laboratory rooms, designed to foster collaboration between computer scientists and biologists.
