Role Summary In this role, you will help Mistral increase its understanding of the public affairs ecosystem, map the cross‑country AI regulatory landscape, prepare leadership for key regulatory meetings, and contribute to defining and implementing Mistral’s public affairs strategy. This role reports to our Public Affairs Europe Lead. Key Responsibilities Monitor and analyse public policy issues and developments related to AI. Assist in developing and implementing public policy strategies that align with Mistral AI's objectives. Identify, prioritise and craft responses to policy issues that may affect Mistral AI and understand the impact they may have on Mistral AI's community. Help solve policy challenges with multiple approaches. Drive and coordinate policy campaigns to support Mistral’s advocacy work. Build and maintain relationships with industry associations. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support policy compliance with regulatory requirements. Prepare briefings, reports and presentations on public policy matters for internal and external audiences. Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in public affairs and policy advocacy. Support leadership decisions with a comprehensive knowledge of the external environment (overall industry, socio‑economic, political and geopolitical environment). Qualifications and Skills 2+ years of professional experience. A Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, or a related field. 1-2 years of experience in public affairs, policy research or a related role. Experience in the technology sector is a strong plus but not required. Strong understanding of the international policy landscape related to AI and technology. Solid knowledge of EU institutions, digital policies and regulations (e.g. AI Act, GDPR, DSA, DMA, AI Continental Action Plan). Solid grasp of institutional and decision‑making processes in France and the EU. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to distill complex policy issues into clear and concise briefings. Proactive, self‑motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team. Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in other languages is a plus. Preferred Experience Very strong expertise of regulatory frameworks in AI (including EU AI Act). Previous experience in‑house or with a GenAI company.
