Senior Originator France – Southern European Origination (h/f), France, Paris Statkraft is Europe’s largest renewable energy producer and a global company in energy market operations. The Markets business area optimises and develops Statkraft’s flexible generation portfolio, while the Origination division creates value by bringing renewable energies to the market with tailored solutions. Working in Southern European Origination Within the Origination division, the Southern European Origination business concludes non‑standard, structured and often complex wholesale transactions in Spain, Portugal, France, and Italy. The team manages long‑term PPAs and is planning significant growth in product scope over the next years. Your role You will report to the Head of Origination France, be based in Statkraft’s Paris office, and work within a dynamic team of originators. The key aspects of the role are the end‑to‑end origination of new business for France, support of the existing portfolio, and business development. Responsibilities Identify, develop, negotiate and execute structured energy transactions in the French market, focusing on long‑term battery offtake agreements. Contribute to pricing of BESS income streams, including ancillary market revenues and performance optimisation. Scale the portfolio of non‑standard power, multi‑commodity and guarantees of origin (GoO) contracts in France. Build knowledge of market fundamentals and power and GoO fundamentals in France. Develop and maintain relationships with large electricity buyers, upstream generators, IPPs, project developers, investors, banks, utilities and merchant traders. Collaborate with other Origination and Portfolio Management team members for deal origination, structuring and pricing to grow and optimise the portfolio. Manage the entire deal approval process with internal stakeholders and take full ownership of implementation and contract management throughout the deal lifecycle. Proactive contribution to strategic discussions and portfolio management interfaces. Qualifications University degree in economics, engineering, business or similar. At least 5 years of professional experience in energy markets, with prior commercial front‑office experience in the French power market. Experience in origination, structuring and negotiation of battery offtake agreements. Experience in cross‑market optimisation, including ancillary markets for flexible assets in France, preferably batteries. Familiarity with non‑standard power contract terms, ideally long‑term PPAs, master trade agreements (e.g., EFET, ISDA). Strong understanding of European power market fundamentals, interconnections, generation assets and market regulations. Team player who can cooperate with Operations, Risk, Legal and other front‑office desks across the deal lifecycle. Commercial mindset with high initiative and motivation.
