OverviewHealthy food access, education and advocacy.Position: Food Policy CoordinatorOrganization: York Region Food NetworkLocation: This is a remote position but candidates must be able to commute within York Region when requiredStart Date: ImmediateEnd Date: December 31, 2026Hourly Wage Rate: $28.50 per hourSchedule: 25 to 30 hours per weekResponsibilitiesOrganize and support 20+ working group meetings annually, including scheduling, agendas, minutes and follow-up.Ensure working group workplan deliverables are completed.Maintain membership lists, contact databases and working group documentation.Support outreach and engagement, ensuring diverse participation.Maintain and manage communication channels (newsletters, Google Groups, social media and website updates).Assist in planning and executing sector trainings, joint initiatives and the 2026 Food for Change event.Track participation, engagement and implementation metrics; assist with reporting and evaluation.Support knowledge sharing and cross-working group collaboration.QualificationsDiploma, degree or equivalent in community development, policy, project management or program coordination1–3 years experience in multi-stakeholder coordination or program implementationStrong organizational, communication and facilitation skillsExperience working with diverse communities and people with lived experience; experience with outreachKnowledge of planning, public health policy, communications an assetKnowledge of food security issues, an assetKnowledge of York RegionProficiency in social media and Microsoft OfficeValid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicleAbility to work flexible hours with some evenings and weekends requiredSecond language an assetApplicationApplication Deadline: February 4, 2026Reports to: Food Policy LeadSubmit Resume to: Hiring Committee, York Region Food NetworkE-mail: morgans@yrfn.caSubject Line: Food Policy CoordinatorPlease mention you saw this at GoodWork.ca.Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
