The Department

Our market-leading Aviation practice is recognised as one of the leading aviation teams in France and globally. The Paris team advises airlines, insurers, airport operators, manufacturers and other aviation industry stakeholders on a broad range of complex and high-profile matters. The team is regularly instructed on major aircraft accidents, passenger claims, cargo disputes, regulatory investigations, commercial litigation and criminal proceedings arising from aviation incidents. Working closely with colleagues across our international network, the team provides commercially focused advice on both domestic and cross-border matters.

The Role

You will work as part of a highly respected aviation team supporting clients on a wide range of contentious and advisory matters. This role offers the opportunity to be involved in complex litigation before the French courts, aviation regulatory matters, disputes and major loss investigations. You will work closely with partners and senior lawyers, taking responsibility for managing matters, developing client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of aviation disputes and related litigation matters.
• Advise airlines, other aviation sector clients on liability, regulatory and operational issues, including 261 claims.
• Draft legal advice, pleadings, witness statements and court submissions.
• Attend client meetings, mediations, hearings and court proceedings as required.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and industry contacts.
• Support business development initiatives, including preparing articles, presentations and client training.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues across Clyde & Co's international aviation and insurance practices.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Is qualified as an Avocat and admitted to practice in France.
• Has experience in litigation and dispute resolution, ideally within the aviation, transport or insurance sectors.
• Possesses excellent drafting, advocacy and analytical skills.
• Demonstrates strong commercial awareness and a client-focused approach.
• Has the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
• Communicates confidently and professionally with clients and colleagues.
• Is capable of working independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
• Is fluent in French and has strong English language skills, both written and spoken.
• Has a proactive approach to business development and relationship management.
• Demonstrates sound judgement, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
